The RHFT is arguably the best ratchet Sears ever sold under the Craftsman brand. 45 tooth, double pawl, so 90 effective teeth. Quick release too. All in the early 70's. How may decades went by before it was surpassed? The truck companies did, but I don't think Sears ever did...

Are they worth extra $$? Not really, or at least not a lot, but it is a sleeper, and (so far) you can still get rebuild kits for 'em. Well worth having.

I think you mixed up your post with someone else? I was talking about the vintage toys you were talking about! You told me about the rhft ratchets a few weekends back and i am definitely keeping my eye out for them now!

Ah, Sorry, Missunderstood!

I just find some of them interesting but the older Tonka toys can get to be worth $$ to collectors. The WWII P38 Lightning was just an awesome fighter. Twin engine adn pretty much superior to almost anything with the exception of the late war jet fighters both Japan and Germany had.

Looks like some people are having great years thus far! Haven't had too many great sales around here even though the weather has been good. Hoping April changes that...

+1 there. My main tool boxes were recently cleaned out and are currently all CM RHTF ratchets, HF Pro ratchets, and a couple of other CM ratchets. Done a lot of work with my CM teardrop ratchets but it was time to move on. (Though they've been relegated to another drawer I still can't seem to get rid of them, though I have probably 50+). My current dilemma is whether or not to sell or keep a 3/8 swivel head RHFT ratchet I picked up a while back for a few bucks.

Some nice finds guys. I have a few things I have picked up but my internet has been going in and out and I will get a new system Friday afternoon. Had to schedule it AFTER the estate and garage sales LOL.

What do you guys think about this sale? Looks like a lot of complete usa craftsman sets. I will probably go for the ratchets and breaker bars! Do you guys see anything i am missing?

https://www.estatesales.net/MN/Savage/55378/1109550

What do they want for the whole box? You could probably part it out and it would pay for itself a couple of times over. And put some USA tools in the hands of people who would use them.

I will give you a few bucks how about $6 LOL!

I rarely (if ever) use swivel ratchets, so my first instinct is to sell it. But when I can't find a single one one Ebay, and only one completed listed for one, I tend to consider hanging onto it.

You mostly stick to the Shreveport area or do you ever travel to sales down here?

Yea the RHFT flex get pretty pricey on Ebay. I rarely get down to Baton Rouge, need to take another trip and see Nine4GMC and meet you too.

They are probably splitting them up. Estate sales rarely sell tool chests with the tools in one lot!

I saw that I think it was marked 50? I might be heading back there before they close since it is only 10 minutes away. They will be dealing more at the end

I would stay away from that paint sprayer unless you had a need for it. Takes up way too much space, and difficult to store neatly. Can't speak for the other items though, the extinguisher looks nice.

Yeah i have zero space for it but it is cool and if I had a big garage I would be all over it. Hopefully they are doing a bag sale the last hour so i can get some good deals.

That's a ton of shiny Craftsman, I'd be a little surprised if they let folks pick out the best bits or break up sets.

Edit: I saw your other replies about companies in your area splitting up boxes.

Good luck, Cody!

What a day! I spent $165 total at this estate sale today and about 95% of the stuff i don't even know why i bought it. They were doing 65% off the last hour or anything you can fit in a bag for $20 no price limit. I scored big time tho but i always feel ashamed of how much i spent when i am done. Pics will be coming either tonight or tomorrow as there is a lot. I might of blew my money for the craftsman sale this week tho!

I answered a CL ad last night about a vise posted. Seller was asking 60 for vise and bench. After a few minutes into the conversation he said his father had passed and was down sizing so his mother could manage the place better. He said his father worked for the railroad.... And that he had other guys coming over later to look at other things. ...I said "what other things?" Before he finished I was in the truck!:3gears: For 170.00 this is what I picked.

Reed 104 w/ bench- Bench top is made of RR bridge plank !- The vise isn't perfect- it had been welded down as some point :dunno:
About a dozen different hammers and axe's-Collins, True temper Kelly works, True temper Jet rocket One 20 ball peen is RR marked same as the locks.
Vintage full gallon can of BLO
old Craftsman #3 plane
Nice Stanley brace w/ full set of Greenlee auger bits
Small B&C wood bench vise
L & l J White wood chisel
Craftsman ratchet wrench's
Ram Tool 1/4 drill - like new. I don't think it's even had a bit in it!
2 Rotisserie motors
4 Keline RR locks ATSF-RYD
381-5188 craftsman vise 4"
union all steel tool box, near mint
hunk of lead
2 pr of US made VG 11's
7 boxes of Disston & Nicholson saw sharping files! over 100 files!
Cool looking boot knife made in Finland
The last item I wanted for the box... then once I opened it up I seen 2 fly fishing poles.... Being surrounded by the big muddy and several other rivers this gear wouldn't do me any good nor did I know much about them. It didn't take long to realize the value here. I'm still trying to find out info on one as it's not well marked . The other is . It's a 3 piece w/ extra tip section split bamboo Horrocks Ibbotson Co. with a Germany silver handle . The box is from the South Bend Bait Co. so that may or may not be the maker of the other fiber glass pole :dunno:

top, you are doing a fine job of knocking it out of the park. What a cool haul. I'd offer you money for the rods if I had any.

The guy wanted $12 for the box of oil and misc car stuff but when i totaled my bill to $95 i said since i am buying all this can you give me the box for $5 and he said yes. It has the vintage oil cans that are unused and they will probably stay that way! Also a bunch of misc car waxes, body fillers, esc! For about 40 items at $15 cents or so each i did very good!

P.S. i actually forgot the box and when i went home to type what i had i remembered i forgot it. Luckily they are only 10 minutes away and were still there packing!

This is the stuff i got in the morning for $60 at 50% off! I probably could of got most of this at the bag sale but oh well i didn't even know i was coming back then! A bunch of misc usa wrenches and pliers! The best piece was a pair of Matco cutters for $3, Also i got the craftsman grinder motor for $3 and it still works which is a shock since the cord is pretty bad.

These were the unusual item i pick out! I think those different size pliers are for bulls if i read a post before about them right! Not sure on the other ones tho . Picked up a cool Russian brand lock for $1. Also not sure what the Williams wrench is for on the right side of the pic? It is marked special tho!

Been quiet for me this year but picked up some vises recently.

Reed 104R from eBay. I had to have it to replace the one I restored and sold last year, so I paid $90 shipped.

Wilton C0 acquired thru a trade with a fellow GJ member.

A Parker 204. I had to have it as it's super clean and has the November 22 patent date which is my birthday. I've been after one of these for over a year. $120 eBay with local pickup. Just picked it up.

Not super great deals but the Parker and Reed were 2 on my list of wants for 2016.

This is just the misc tools i throw into the bags as fillers! Also found a bunch of wood handles for axes and hammers. They might come in handy if one of mine brakes!

You have a better pic of the tool. It may be a ram set by Hilti. Used a .22 cal to shoot nails into concrete. But I can't say for sure by the pic.

My usual Saturday auction was a bust, didn't even stay. Only thing even remotely interesting was a tool box fill with worn out broken tools, that had some broken snap on in it. I bet it was bid into the stratosphere, and not something I want to get involved in,

Flea market today was better I made 3 stops and ended up with this lot

Last pic is mostly craftsman and a couple of snap on 9/32" drive tools.

Top, great haul. You have over $170 in NOS files there. Can you show a few pics of the files/rasps or the ends of the boxes.
