One good smack on an anvil with a smith's hammer will fix that right up. Use a stronger non-needle nose or make use of the cheap HF versions

Don't have a pic of it, but was using a regular clear handle 1/4" craftsman screwdriver to pop off a bearing cover on a wheel. Was tapping the end of the handle with a hammer to get it under the metal tin cap when I felt it finally going...but to my surprise what was going was the metal shaft of the screwdriver sinking further and further into the plastic handle until there was barely any of it stick out out at which point I tried another craftsman screwdriver and it worked on the first hit. It was almost as if that screwdriver handle was filled with jello. Never had that happen again with any other screwdriver, both cheap or pricey.
