A buddy picked this up for $20 and is in the process of fixing it up.. It looks like an old Delta to me but I have ever seen a red one? Is that what this is?

Looks like a Delta, even the worklight. Better pictures would help. There were a lot of Delta "clones" made though.

Looks like the normal 14" Delta to me. Measure the wheel diameter. Maybe 40s vintage.
Non original motor. Original Delta "Retirement lamp".

Any idea on the year it would be?

I thought maybe it was a delta 768 10" which would make it Pre WW2

There is a badge on the back side, where the top and bottom casting bolt together. It will have the serial number, looks like it has been painted over though. It's a delta wood saw, pretty sure 14", but they made some very beefy 10" variants.

Definitely is a Delta 14". A very fine band saw. Totally rebuildable, if necessary.

The light alone is worth a hundred dollars. $20? Your buddy *****.

Pretty sure it's a 14" Delta. If you can read the serial number off of the back we'll know year. A few other clues can be the type of knobs that hold the wheel covers on and if the stand is welded or bolted. Those could've all been changed along the way though, so the serial number is your best bet.

Great score since the light is worth 4-5x the $20 you paid. Is it a Delta motor as well?

Has an old GE motor on it now.. betting non original.

Think I have it narrowed to a model 890 between 1937-39

tell him if he is lucky the badge might still be there on the upper wheel cover. Mine had been painted over about 20 times lol but this is what I uncovered.
