Awhile back I was wondering when Dewalt was going to come out with a brushless 3/8 impact. I had/have a 20 volt brushed one but disappointed with its power shortly after I bought it and swore I wouldn't buy another till they had a brushless version. Well, the anvil hammer broke on my Dewalt thursday morning and now I have a Milwaukee 18 volt fuel on the way. I borrowed my bosses Fuel and wow, incredible power. Just kinda stinks cause I have a lot of Dewalt stuff at home already and i like one theme of cordless tools. Wish Dewalt could have stepped up to the plate sooner.

If you really want to stick with one platform you can order a mac bare tool & use it with dewalt batteries. That being said I love my Milwaukee stuff & would recommend them.

I dunno I have em both the fuel and the dewalt brushed 3/8 20 volt the fuel does have a little bit more power it is also a little longer anvil to back. I have no complaints of my dewalt mine hasn't broken but I use it daily it's pretty thrashed, the 3.0 batts work and last quite well obviously a brushless version of the dewalt would be nice As is both of them take off average lug nuts for me if asked to, it's not something normal I do but when installing sets of locking lug nuts on new car preps I pull of the factory new lugnuts with the dewalt it does 2500-3500 rams all day even

Enjoy the fuel its a great gun

As mentioned above, Mac's 20 volt tools are powered by Dewalt batteries. Milwaukee tools are good, but being able to use the same batteries are nice. Plus, the m18 fuel is rated at 200 ft lbs while the Mac is rated at 325 ft lbs. Pretty big difference. Either way I'm sure you'll be happy.

Big difference in price I know that much. The Dewalt puts out 130 ft lbs while Mac puts out 325. I'd say there's a difference. I cannot find if the Mac is brushless though. There's a really nice, clean looking used one on eBay right now.

Totally redesigned and exclusive to MAC for the moment. The only brushless model is the DCF899 which DeWalt launched first and has been recently rebranded in MAC colors.

Looked at the one on ebay, looks to be brushed , looks like brush service screws on the side

Yea evidentially they don't have brushless 3/8" yet either. I don't know if you have any 12v Dewalt batteries, but Mac has close out deals right now on 1/2" & 3/8" drills as well as 1/2" & 3/8" impact wrenches on their website. I don't know the cost of a complete 18v Milwaukee set vs a Mac bare tool, but if you can stick with one battery and charger it does make things a little easier. Especially since you already own them. I'm slowly transitioning over to 20v Dewalt from 18v ridgid right now. I have the 1/4" impact driver & just got the dcf899 brushless 1/2" impact and man is it a beast. I like it more then my SO mg725.
