Another lift question

I'm looking at lifts. I have a 2003 F250 supercab 4x4 with 5.4 and a 2012 mustang 3.7 v6 coupe. I need a lift that can lift both of these. I'd like to keep the price below $2500. I have some time hope to buy something by fall.

I like the in floor or surface mount full-rise scissor lifts but they seem to be pricey. I guess I could use a mid-rise? I have used 2 post lifts before but never really liked working under them. This leaves me with 4 post lifts. I'm looking to do regular maintenance. like a clutch on the mustang or rear diff on the truck oil/fluid changes, brakes etc... I've only used a 4 post once at a friends shop and loved it.

Ive looked up and took a few dimensions of these vehicles and determined they are pretty close in width the mustang @ 73.9" and the truck at 79.9" so 6" not too bad. The curb weight is 3447lbs for mustang and 5601lbs for the F250. Makes me think a 7k lift or better. I was looking at direct lifts, auto lifts, dannmar, atlas probably a few others.

I noticed the outside widths of the actual platforms on most of the 8k and even the 12k lifts of different brands was 80" max? I see the drive thru distance was greater or the between posts was pretty big but this width of 80" I don't see wider? I don't think I want to try to square up on a lift with .1 inches to spare.

Am I missing something?

Does anyone else have this combo of vehicles and a 4 post?? OR does someone have a 1999-2007 f250 on a 4 post so I can see the clearance?

Hurm didn't phrase it right??... I guess I'm asking whats the dimension from outside edge to outside edge of your runways on your 4 post?? Also is 8k the correct weight capacity for my truck according to weight specified before. humr I guess I don't know how to ask

If you have the ceiling height, you might want to go with something like this:

My friend has one and his F250 2wd fits underneath with a mustang on top. They had to box out the ceiling for the roof of the car since our garages have an 11' 8" ceiling.... If your ceiling is over 12' 6", you should be good... Not sure what the roof height is on your F250 but I'm thinking it might be taller than 6' 4"... IN that case, this one might work, that's the one I was going to order until the town shot down my garage...

If you rather not do the concrete rework to surface install (assuming an existing structure) and wanted the flexibility of being able to move unit + could get by with a mid-rise.....check out the Atlas Kwik Bay 7000.

I looked at this but I wont get enough lift for the Stang. I know I'll be limited with ceiling height for the truck. I want what lift I can get for the Stang..

Thanks for taking some time to link thoes. I wish I had the height but I'm stuck with 10'-8". I looked at those lifts both nice setups, I really like the 4 posters.

My first reason to buy a 4 post lift was so I could roll it out to the drive for the truck and work in the garage with the car. My garage being 22'x22' and the new ceiling height once I'm done of 10'-8". I can't see loosing the real estate with the 4 post.

I Guess I'm looking for a scissor lift? Something like the Atlas Slp-7K Full Rise Scissor! This can lift the truck and the car in the garage. I'd need the Lift Support Bars for the truck too so that's another $350. Total with bars is $3,945 from Greg Smith Equipment.

I can mount this to the floor for now. I can cut the concrete to mount it sub surface later. Its a lot more than I want to spend tho. Anyone have promo codes for Greg Smith?

Like I said in my first post I have time but trying to plan ahead for whats best for my garage.

Any other ideas or suggestions.

I have just a little bigger garage, 24 x 24 and I bought a Bendpak HD9-XW with the castor kit and an RJ45 rolling centre jack. I bought this because it would lift my 08 Dodge Megacab and only had to fold one mirror in when driving on. It also has one runway that is adjustable for narrower vehicles. It is also about one foot narrower in width than other 9k lifts so I could fit my other vehicles between the garage door frame and the right rear post of the lift to get into the garage. I bought it in June 2015. So far no complaints

Most full size pickups will be 79-81
Duallys with a pickup box will be 96, cab and chassis trucks very

Every truck I've pulled on drive ons had about 2-3 inches on each side. More on right side probably. I always pull them on with the right front tire about 2 inches from edge

Thank you for that. If I can't find a reasonable priced full rise scissor this will probably be the route I go. Mind if I ask what the over all cost was with the castor kit and an RJ45 rolling center jack?

The only wider ones I've used are for class 8 trucks. I could align a school bus on it and still have 5 feet in front of the lift lol

FWIW, Even Bendpak's 7000lb lift has a wide option that gets to 82". Their 14K's go to 91"

That is correct. If I cant find the full rise scissor lift I want for a reasonable price I'm probably going to go with that wide option Bendpak.

It's no problem if tire does stick off lift on one side a inch or so if you don't get centered. Watch the amateurs at work do it daily without mishap
