Cool trusses, what's the outside look like? Damn comfy lookin chair too.

Since I live in a neighborhood the outside is vinyl siding, the roof is metal. The roof system and post came from a company called Agri-steel.

Thats a decent size shop. How do you like the single overhead door in such a wide shop?

Thank you! It's 30X40 with a 10X10 door. I've been real happy with it. If I had 2 doors that would cut down on my storage space.

No plans for any expansion................yet. Right now I'm in dire need of a deep cleaning of the place. I've started several projects then they get put aside for other projects and next thing ya know the shop looks like a tornado hit it. When we start getting some decent weather around here and I can clean it up, I'll post some before and after pics.

Thought I'd post an update to see how my shop has changed over the last 3 years. It had gotten pretty dis-organized and messy so the wife and I spent 2 weekends out there getting things cleaned up.

Is that a Dodge D50 or a Mitsubishi sitting in the corner that hasn't been moved since you first posted pics of the garage? Any reason why you don't drive it?

As far as the garage, any plans to finish off the top and paint everything, or just use it as it is? Looks like a great garage to turn some wrenches in. Comfy chair....beer fridge....that's all you need other than some tunes or TV.

It's actually a Plymouth Arrow (same as the Dodge D50) Life, kids and other **** has kept me from getting it back on the road. It needs the front suspension re-built.

Haven't decided what to do above the panels yet, just using it as is for now. I have thought about painting the walls white. I've been told it will make it brighter in there.

I do have a TV with Direct TV, just to the left of the back door and my old Stereo is above the tool box and a back-up one on the top shelf to the left of the garage door. I've also added a computer with internet access. It's interesting to me to look back at the old pics and see how it's changed!

That's the biggest box fan I've ever seen! Talk to me about that thing.

Nice shop

I've got a Mikuni carb on it, but it's not a side draft.

Well you have made some progress from the first posts

Thank you!!! As they say "It's a labor of love".

That's the biggest box fan I've ever seen! Talk to me about that thing.

Several years ago we had a total HVAC system replacement on the house. The fan was actually a attic fan that was in the house. When we decided to have it removed I knew I wanted to keep it to make it into a shop fan. The guy taking it out couldn't get it out in one piece so he cut it up into 7 pieces!!! I wasn't too happy. I decided to keep it anyway so I piled it into a corner and let it sit. Flash forward a year or so, I'm talking to a buddy of mine about his shop fan that he built (much smaller) and I tell him my story. He says bring the pieces to me and he'll weld it back together and make a shop fan out of it for me. I do and a month later he calls and says it's ready!!!! I pick it up and ask what I owe him.........he says just material cost..........$150.

That thing will MOVE some air!!!! When my youngest was about 8 y.o. she couldn't stand directly in front of it!!! Makes summer time work in the shop bearable. Here in Mississippi the heat and humidity get pretty intense.

It does.......and forget about anything paper staying put!!!

Most of time I put it in the opening and bring the garage door down to the top of the fan, open the back door and have the fan **** the air through the shop, gives it a nice gentle breeze inside.
