I would take off the hard jaws and store them, replace with aluminum jaws. So much easier on nearly everything one wants to grip. So few things that I have found are actually tolerant of the "bite marks" that hard knurls always leave. Having 2 vises is a tool-less changeover :)

You'll regret selling it more than you will holding onto not in use.

Clearly you should sell it to someone who will appreciate it, it sounds like you want something you can move around, something like this

Why don't you post a pic of the actual vise you bought and state the price you paid? Maybe you didn't already know that you can't solicit "suckage", but many of us appreciate a good deal on a vise so we would give you props anyway in the form of positive comments. I myself spend way too much time on Craigslist trying to be the first guy to respond to the super deals. I have snagged a few but in the long run not worth the time unless it becomes an enjoyable game for the buyer. Value depends a lot on condition as you probably already know.

Sell it and buy a used Wilton Machinist or a vintage Reed. Once that Tradesman gets all scratched up it will not keep the value of the bigger used vises.

So the awesome guys of GJ have convinced me to keep it. The reason I was contemplating it is that I have a 6" Irwin/Record? already in place. The base on the Wilton is way bigger so I have to remake a mounting plate as it is mounted in a trailer hitch receiver.

So how much did I pay... I don't even want to say...but less than $50

It was very slightly used. No marks, perfect shape.

Keep it and use it. Mount it on a post or tube that's attached to a larger plate of truck rim.

I have a second one that I use for HOT work, like heating stuff or welding. It comes in more handy than you think it would.

For 50 bucks- that's damn near once in a lifetime. Every other blue moon, at least....
Glad you kept it. You won't regret it.

This is exactly what I did with one of mine. I also added some casters to the bottom of the rim so that I can tilt it over and roll it to wherever I want.
