Might or might not be 'garage related' - I use an ipad all the time to look things up in the shop. As of yesterday the 13" (newest model) Macbook Air is marked down $200 to $799. That's a screaming deal - the 11" is still at $899.

>The intent of this post isn't to debate PC/Mac **** . . .but if you are looking for a basic 13" laptop for social media/web browsing/photos/music and you're not doing anything like photo editing etc, this is about $150 cheaper than I've ever seen them :shocking::thumbup:

Check your local store for inventory or you can order online with free shipping. Don't know if there is an end date tied to this new price.

Showed up for me once I went to the Computer section of their website: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/promo/save-on-macbook-153525

Good deal, it's worth mentioning though that they will be putting out new versions of their laptops pretty soon (probably June/Julyish). So unless you're buying at a discount like at BestBuy or simply need something NOW it's generally a better idea to wait for the new versions to come out. I'm currently in need of a small laptop and stuck between wanting something now and waiting for the new ones to come out. I checked out the Macbook Air's last week and the screen is really underwhelming and I'd be willing to bet the next version will have a much better (likely retina) display. Plus I'm thinking they may condense their line from the 3 offerings they have now (Macbook Air, Macbook, and Macbook Pro) down to 2 different lines instead. We'll see.

I don't disagree, but the spirit of this post was aimed at snagging a killer deal on a very good laptop that will last you 5+ years. If you are in the market for a $1500 laptop or need to buy the latest thing on the market this deal is not for you - I've owned 6 or 7 Apples and while I think they are great machines, I rarely get to use the word "bargain" when describing them! LOL:beer:

The other reason I like this deal (and bought it) is because I really like the magsafe cord (discontinued on the new Macbooks) because I can't tell you how many times I have tripped over the cord and yanked it out. Also, Almost every computer item I own is USB2 - and this still has USB 2 ports. I know, I'm not cutting edge - but I am ok being a few years behind on tech. I still play CDs LOL.:lol_hitti

Shows up as 849.99 for me. I think I am also in the "wait until summer new product release" camp. Thanks for the heads-up.
