I'm sorry but I am going to have to disagree with you, the time to buy tools is when you don't need them and can get a good deal, the time not to buy them is when you need them and have to pay retail or worse use credit either at a store or on the tool truck.

I will put myself out as an example. I have a lot of machinist tools and starting to build up a good bit of tooling both for a lathe and a mill, neither of which I own, but some day I will have both and buy buying them now when I can get the good deals I will have a good selection when I do add those machines to the shop.

Exactly. Sure, MY only vehicle has SAE lug nuts, but do I only get a 7/8" impact socket for them?

Granted, they have many other uses in other areas.

I have never seen a US made bent handle flex that is fully polished like that before. Doesn't it say something like D-AB on the handle opposite the Craftsman logo? If so it's Danaher made with a foreign COO. I don't even think that particular ratchet has been made for more than a few years, so it is not that old.

They made those in USA. I had one until it got left on the bumper of my truck :3gears: They made almost all fully polished ratchets in the USA at first. Part number is 44835 - VS - USA
Here's a good example of a few different polished USA ratchets on eBay. Including the flex head bent handle. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-CRAFTSM...:g:dhsAAOSwxcRW9qse&item=152029870590&vxp=mtr

What about the snap-on cordless screwdriver is that worth his asking price? I was thinking about getting the snap-on items.

I see the usa craftsman reversible wrenches selling for between $80 and $100 new in the package so i think $50 for both sets is fair. How good are these compared to the gearwrench and dewalt sets? I will see what package deal i can get with him. He said he will sell everything for $220 but i don't need the cornwell ratchets.

Don't buy the cordless screwdriver. It's not what you think. Not a drill or impact driver, it's an electric screwdriver. It has limited uses and the batteries will be extinct before you ever do use it. The 4 screwdrivers and the ratchet wrenches are the best deal, but if you've gotten this far with the wrenches you have, you def don't need these.

Those ratchets are some of the nicest roto ratchets on the market. Far better then the craftsmans you bought the other day.

I am sure they are but i really don't need a expensive set of ratchets right now.

I can't get him do go below $120. he is firm but he is throwing in a usa craftsman 1/4 ratchet and 1/4 northern tool ratchet. Could i sell some of these tools quick to offset the cost of the purchase?

You could, but we both know you won't. I'm fairly confident you'll never use the snap on cordless screwdriver, stethoscope, or 2 different sets of ratchet wrenches at once, so I'd say let it go. Maybe buy the 4 screwdrivers for $20 and that's it.

He will go down to $100 for me today only. I think for that price i will buy everything. I know i can flip a couple of the things i don't need to offset the cost.

Now the guy is being a huge ****. He texts me saying he will sell the tools for $100 today only. I was already out all day and was home so i asked if we can meet tomorrow by his work and he said he can drive here so i tell him what road i am off off and he texts saying he wasted enough time trying to deal with someone who isn't willing to leave his house or say where it is? He texted me saying he would meet me at my place now he gets mad when i won't meet somewhere else? Then when i say i can meet at my work down the road he mocks me saying i am home now and don't feel like leaving the house again will meet tomorrow but now it is $120.

He says this is the last of it so there should be no more. He said final offer $130 for everything but the 1/2 impact, craftsman drill, cornwell ratchets or $200 including the cornwell ratchets!

Think about things for a minute. You have been haggling this guy to the point of exhaustion and when he has had enough and ready to give in you don't want to budge an inch and meet up with him cause your tired?

I just got home from getting the tools. The tools were in a little worse shape then i thought since he said he rarely used them because these were his home tools but still a great deal no matter what shape! He was not as happy to see me as the first time seemed a little pissed off maybe at me? Pics are coming in a second!

Here is the tools i am going to keep. Weird how the Matco quick change bit set is made in china when it retails for over $80? It has rust on them all but i think that is because they were sitting in his garage and should come up with some cleaner!

I might keep the craftsman usa wrenches and swap them out with another set i have but not sure yet. I also might keep the snap-on set but most likely will flip them since i am very set for screwdrivers!

I was gonna say, screw (buying) the screwdriver but good haul regardless.
