I have been cutting back a lot. I haven't been to a estate sale in a few weeks and will probably hold off for the rest of the month! I have a lot of my tools listed on craigslist and will have them listed on ebay soon as well. Also am going to have a garage sale in a few months too and that will move alot of my smaller tools.

I live in a townhouse at the moment so a single garage is all i am going to get for now to work with! No matter how much space i don't have i will always take free tools or toolboxes!

Instead of selling your doubles, get a small tool box and fill it up with everything you may need for small side of the road repairs, trips to the junk yard, etc. I used to hate having to put tools back in my chest after taking an assortment out to do a job somewhere. They never fit back the same.

Not a bad idea if you've got the coin.

More that i will keep! I am probably going to sell my gearwrench set and keep the usa craftsman ratcheting set.

Ratcheting wrenches are great, and I use them when I can. But I'd argue that you always have a standard combo wrench too. I've had plenty of times when there was not enough clearance to fit the fatter ratcheting box end, but a regular combo would fit. So both seem essential in my experience.

Welcome to the club. I/we were all like you. Now I have a tool box with only brand new, never used "spares" and another tool box with old, retired beater tools, plus my 2 regular boxes. Then I have two or three 50+/- piece socket sets I keep in my trucks/trailer, a plumbing box, a carpentry bag, all sorts of nonsense. I had to buy plastic bins from target to keep some of this stuff in. I even filled a two piece 26" tool box with all good stuff to keep at my grandmothers house. It's a sickness. The funny thing is my father is the same way. He called me today and told me about a pawn shop that's closing up. "Ya the guy said back your truck up & he'll give you a deal on whatever you want!" Coincidentally I have tomorrow off....
