Someone is selling this for $40. I'm wondering is it a good price to put the work into restoring it?uploadfromtaptalk1460915558536.jpg

Not sure about that model, but the newer homak is junk. I'm sure that box would be a good road box for the price.

lorddiesel,

Good box at a fair price... yes, but could probably be had for $30.

Good road box... no. It does not have a drop front for weather protection.

Just saying...

I wouldn't waste my time with it, but...
It's essentially a late 90s craftsman box.

It's bad for a road box because it is not built to withstand the road induced forces. Just because a box has a drop front cover DOES NOT mean it is a road box.

restoration may cost more than any value perceived. If you are keeping it or doing it for your self, then go for it.

They were not super well built in their heyday.

Homark is a weird brand. In the 90's, I'd say their stuff was along the line of craftsman of that era. Somewhere, somehow, they are or were partnered with Kennedy offering a higher line of pro grade boxes. That box the OP posted looks deep for a 26" top box, 16" at least. Cheap top boxes normally arn't deep. The best the OP can do is look at it. Maybe a real tank, I don't know.

Looks cheap to me. I would spend maybe a couple hours cleaning it and giving it a spray paint job, but that's about it.

If you really want to find something to restore, find something worth restoring.
