Broke down and ordered the 7 & 10" Knipex pliers wrenches. Hope they live up to the hype. I be using them to tighten down garden hose connections when hooking up to the pressure washer, a job I usually use my Channellock 810N adjustable wrench for.

I just wanted to share my positive customer experience with Mobile Distributor Supply, the vendor that is a subject of this thread. I saw this thread on GJ and ordered 5 & 7 in Cobra Pliers, 5 & 7 in Pliers Wrench, 8 in diagonal cutters and a 6.25 in electricians long nose pliers. My 10 in Pliers Wrench got me hooked on the Knipex, so thats my excuse for the splurge.

Fedex said the package was delivered (at the mailbox, not my house which is 30 yds away), but the package was nowhere to be found. Naturally I was upset that more than 150 bucks worth of tools was just magically gone. My experience with Fedex was not good, their customer service was polite, but complete ****.

MDS sent out a replacement order that I received a couple days later. MDS customer service was great, very helpful and understanding. I wouldn't hesitate to do business with MDS again.

Cobras are the best, the Alligators are a lower cost alternative.

The only situation where I think Alligators would be better is if you really plan to abuse them: mud, rain, salt water, etc.

I had Cobras at work. The adjuster kept jamming from all the grime they got exposed to in my working environment, so I switched to Alligators and now use the Cobras at home.

I like the Cobras and Alligators equally. They're both quality product.

i agree. cobras with their button adjuster are nice but very easily get dirt and grime in, but comes in handy to make a one handed adjustment.

And while I have the mic, does anyone have any input on the Cobra Quick Det pliers? I already have 10's but was wondering if I would like the Quick Set adjustment, or if it's too finicky.

I've only used them a couple times but I much prefer the quick set tot the normal cobra pliers. I have the auto adjusting ones I posted earlier in this thread.

I only have the smart grip, alligators and knockoffs of the cobras. I also have pliers wrenches. The smart grip is tighter than I can do with one hand. With two hands I can feel it flexing, but no more than the others.
