Wiring garage now. I need a 4 post that is long enough and heavy enough to pick up my 2013 F350 diesel Crewcab . Would I still be looking at a 120 volt lift ? Or would I need 240 v and its own circuit. Thanks in advance for replies

Most full size lifts need 240v and should be on their own circuit. Even if it ends up being 120v, having a spare 240v run never hurts in a garage.

Voltage would only really affect the time it takes to lift the vehicle assuming the motor (120 or 240) is rated to lift said vehicle.
120V will get you higher amperage than 240 again assuming same load.

I just had installed a Bendpak HD-9XW which can handle your pickup (I have a F250 CC Diesel). It was available as 120 or 240 power unit. 20 amp circuit either way. The 120V pack is 1HP and the 240 is 2HP. The higher voltage unit can lift faster. I was also told the 240v unit is much more common.

Thanks jcthorne, that's the info I was looking for. I was undecided on a 2 or 4 post. But a 4 will be best for what I need it for. If you get a chance could you give me the footprint of the lift so I can position my lighting? I have a 12' ceiling . Thanks again

We installed a 4 post Bendpak 9XW, its a 240V on its own 20 amp breaker. I have lifted my 2014 F-350 Diesel supercab and a buddies crew cab. I also put my 2011 F-350 Dually dump on it but only part way up. Hope this helps.

I just installed my HD-9XW last month. It calls for a 25 amp breaker @ 240 volts. Apparently it still works OK with a 20 amp breaker. As mentioned, 120v unit is also available.

Thanks Mark, I went back to look at your posts to see your 4 post. That's the one I'll need. I'm putting elec in my building now. I still want to get out and see your garage up close. I am sure you are very busy this time of year though.

I went with the 120V option on my 4 post. No problems lifting any of the f250 crew cab short bed single rear wheel diesels I've owned. Not the fastest, but I don't lift them often so no big deal. Even though I have a 240v outlet located where the lift usually sits. I went for the 120v so the lift could be moved anywhere in my shop without worrying about power.

Definitely crazy busy this time of year but I "try" (key word try) to be home by 5 during the week or if I know in advance I can be around on the weekends. Would love to meet up with you at some point and would love to check out your place as well!!
