Hey VA,
If you don't mind me asking, are you located anywhere near Norfolk? I was up there today picking up a bullet
and noticed a lot of vises that had been restored on the Hampton Roads Craigslist.

I'm about 30 miles from of the Martinsville Speedway.---That may not mean anything to you.---There's people around here that couldn't care less about NASCAR.![]()
All, here's a good example of distortion in the index.---The index says the Franklin is on page 1452, but I found it on page 1448.---I just knew to drop back a few pages till I found it.---This is probably going to get worse because members are constantly deleting posts and some are getting canned for foul language, gestures, or inciting online riots.---I really don't know what to do about it, only to tell you that the ascribed page number will put you in the ballpark, then you'll have to do some scrolling.
I'm actually going to remount this vise at another portion of the bench because I like being able to use the swivel.
wow a g-note......is he dreaming or a deal??

I don't say this often, but you ****!!!

Jarhead-sweet find! I to have a sj Wilton no. 60, and have lots of internal pictures if you need them when taking yours apart! Mine did not have an end cap. What's the date on the key say?
I picked up this Craftsman 05191 at a flea market for $25. Does anyone know who made it?
No problem jarhead. Better yet, if you need some guidance, start on Post number 2236 on page 112 of the vise repair 101 thread to see the process I went through with mine. Good luck man, can't wait to see the end result!
That question will have the board all a twitter, AGAIN. There are all sorts of theories.
I'll start. I'm firmly in the Reed camp.

Good evening fellers I found what I think is a bullet which I believe was made at Grunman. I purchased it from a guy who said his uncle worked for Grunman. 4 1/2" jaws 58 pounds. Has anyone seen a non factory made bullet, except for the guy on you tube.
Gonna have to soak her in some SG to get the rest of the paint off. You really cant see it but the nut is attached to the rear of vise. might be milled from one piece.
