Erm.. thats feet, not metres or yards so not quite as big as the big party garage.
Brick look concrete pre-fab on a concrete base.
Just been buying some metal signs for it over the last couple of weeks (all repro so dont bother calling round Mike & Frank).

Love the hot rods that live in your garage. God bless.

Your pride of ownership is obvious.

Youre right! Having moved house a couple of years ago from a house with a tiny single garage in a block down the road with no electric, the new garage is absolute luxury and seems huge to me. I dont know if you have garages in blocks over there so ive added a photo of my old Harley in the garage block at my old house. The new house already had a, not very old, pre-fab single garage that i had dismantled. I then squeezed in the biggest garage i could fit. The existing 10x9 conservatory (we tend to do things smaller here) had a back door onto the decking but no side door so i had one put in which aligns with the wooden side access door to the garage. This means i can go out to the garage when its pouring with rain without getting wet. And then theres the electric.. light and power tools.. wonderful! Going the other way from the conservatory leads into the diner which im also rather proud of (see photo). Garage flooring is made from two cut down rolls of 33'x7'x1/4" round dot garage flooring, very heavy, very expensive and not easy to unroll, cut and position (despite what the adverts tell you).. good stuff though. Real happy with it all.

Baron: welcome to the group and nice clean looking garage. I have to ask how you get your two cars parked like that and then take them out for a ride. how often do you take them out for a ride?

or do you mostly ride the bike?

Thank you. It gets worse.. What you cant see is that the back of the house partly covers the garage door so it takes some manoeuvring to get round it into/from the narrow driveway. Its just as well i have cars designed in the 1930's as they are narrow. The Popular 103e (Anglia) is so narrow that i can reverse it and control the clutch while looking back out of the passenger side window! Also, the tyres sticking out wider than the fenders helps when putting it close to the wall. If its not going well i shut off the engine, get out, and push it into position.
I have a daily driver, the Hot Rods mostly come out for events. The Pop did get used as a daily for a few days recently when the daily drivers cam belt snapped before it was due.
Sadly after thirteen years of reliable use, the gearbox on the Norton needs rebuilding. They used Triumph Trident T160 gearbox internals which were not able to handle the power of the Rotary. They had to switch to Yamaha OW01 gearboxes for the race bikes.

Just back from taking my youngest daughter to AJ's Diner in the Coupe.
AJ's doesnt look the part from the outside but hides a secret within.
Its really a Motorcycle shop but they clear the bikes out to make a dance floor for events.

BARON: great looking ice cream parlor and Don's is coming close to looking as nice. he needs a few of the young waitresses and their cute outfits to really make his pop. Is AJ's open to the public?

so when are you planning on coming over to our side of the BIG POND?

cheers

Thanks!.. yes, im keeping a close eye on what that Don is up to, we could definitely have some competition there if he just ups his game a bit. ;)

AJ's is open as a Diner yes, and they do Jive classes and Rock n Roll nights with live bands (better than dead ones) and car shows. I did ask recently if they still sell motorcycles there as i havent seen any bikes on the dance floor recently and im told they have stopped that in favour of the Diner as a viable business, although the owner does still do rider training for taking the bike driving test. Its a great friendly place, the only thing lacking is some windows overlooking the car park from the Diner for the car shows.

Ive no definite date (year) for doing Route 66 yet, only very early days planning in a tiny room at the back of my brain so far. I didnt even start thinking about it at all until a few months ago. Ive been watching documentarys and there is a 'like him or hate him' YouTuber called Justin Scarred (irritating/amusing depending on your viewpoint) whos done a lot of videos about modern day tourist attraction Route 66. The idea is slowly gaining traction.

Some new additions to my Grand one and a half car garage. I treated myself to the neon clock and the red Sinclair sign.. and i got the Full service island, Mobil and Standard signs from my daughters for Christmas (with a little prompting). Its just possible that this place might have had something to do with inspiring the choices.
