Now on a whole different topic, I finally got some decent painting weather and was able to finish the "rescue" of an abused Baby Bullet and Pow-R-Arm. Too badly abused to sell, so I'm keeping this one.

IMG_1104 (Medium).jpg IMG_1251 (Medium).jpg

This one had the "untapered" end. I looked over dozens of photos of other baby bullets to determine if that end could be original. Since it was held in by 3 roll pins instead of two pins I concluded it was not original, and tapered the end myself. Paint is Rustoleum Universal Oil Rubbed Bronze.

That came out better than I thought it could. You've done an amazing job of rescuing that poor vise.

So, I have a question for the vise gurus here. The Wilton that I just did has original surfaces on the jaws and the ends of them are rough (the tops are too). I'm tempted to polish (belt sander only) the ends along with the material of the dynamic and stationary ends. The ends that I'm talking about are at the arrows. Maybe I should do the jaws only but then it isn't the way it came; it will look nicer though.

OK, your call. When I sell vises, I polish the tower sides to show no damage. It is really personal choice. I like bling-bling. Quite frankly in many cases the factory finish was AWFUL. I over restore my vises, and they sell better than the factory finish pieces. It is up to you what you want to do and dont let anyone judge you. As I like to say, thats why God made blondes, brunetts and redheads

Cwazy, looks like baby's of any brand/make fetch a handsome price.---That little devil had a quick-release to boot.---I think you should have waded in a little deeper on that one.---Those little ones are like art, more-or-less an investment.-JMO.

I think I gave $100 for this one. The little one is one of my favorites.

Can somebody please help ID this vise. 4 ½" jaws, 40-50 lbs, and definitely Art Deco. Any help would be appreciated...

It's only allowing me to upload one picture.

Kotter: go ahead and make several posts of one picture so you can post up more angles of that Cool vise if you have time. as I mentioned before if you go in your GJ profile and put in the area where you live it might help give us an idea of the vise's location and history.

it looks like a solid vise and i'd probably buy it and I don't NEED a vise, but it has the old European look. guessing you are from that side of the world. are you?

welcome to the forum.

Techie: if I was using it i'd leave it and would have probably just left it naked with BLO. like Joe said some guys like the shiny look sitting on their bench and next to their shiny muscle car so might pay more to have that look.

WILTON SHOP KING I've had my eyeballs peeled for some time for one of these deco beauties. Got very lucky - $35 with pipe jaws and a cut-off tool. The hunt for a Parker 63 1/2 continues.

Great find...bargain price
I have been searching for one myself. Gotta love that logo! Nice addition to your depression era shelf.

Kotterkey - Unfortunately, the site has a problem uploading more than one picture from mobile devices. Unlike a desktop that allows you to give each picture it's own name, the site will recognize multiple pics from a mobile device as having the same name and will only upload the first picture.

In addition, the site sometimes has issues with recognizing orientation from mobile uploaded pics and will rotate the picture on you. To avoid this, I will edit the photo in an editor by playing with the rotation, then resave the picture before uploading. This tends to fix the orientation issue and display the picture right side up.

Kotterkey: What a great vise. With all those unique features someone should be able to identify it; parallel grooves on the dynamic and static jaws, jaw plates bolted on from behind, the size and placement of the anvil surface, wide but shallow slide, rounded shoulders. I looked through many of the English vice catalogues that Cwazy Wabbit posted and couldn't find a match. If it is an English vice, my money is on Fortis, or Woden, perhaps Parkinson or one of the 1571 rip-offs of Record. I'm almost sure of it. If you do find the maker please let us know.

Don't know much about it, but this one came with a welding table I just bought.

American Scale Company #66 "Red Seal".

Get rid-vise envy...that little pocket vise is just too cool.

Crs-congrats man! I have a tool guy try to sell me the Parker 63 1/2 your looking for for $120. Couldn't even respond to the craziness, and it was beat! Im a collector, but he must have thought I was a addicted vise junkie or something! I do want one as well though, but not an over priced spray painted one! Good luck!

Cwh-sweet table and vise!

I only have two vises at the moment but I have my eye on one that will fit between these two.

#1 - Craftsman that I bought at a yard sale 15-20 years ago. It is a good little vise. I may freshen it back up soon.

#2 - Colombian # 506 that I bought for scrap ($0.04/ lb) recently. I am going to clean it up and mount it on some I-bean in the ground outside my shop. It is sitting on some 4x4 posts right now

I picked up this ERON No. 125 yesterday. I suspect its from Japan like the others in this thread. But i dont see a made in Japan on it. Maybe its hiding under all the rock hard grease and crud.. It definitely looks and feels like a record vise. The original color seems to be a blue like Record as well. but i think im going to try something different with this one. I got a can of Grape Purple ive been wanting to use for a while. I also have a spare set of jaw inserts from months ago that i might replace the originals with. The originals are worn a bit towards the edges and the bolt pattern seems to be the same as the spares i have.

Good price! I paid $50 for one in similar condition (paint not quite as nice) a few weeks ago.

Kotterkey: Thanks for posting that picture of your clean and shiny Eron 100. Now I know what mine will look like when I get it spiffed up. I got it last January as part of a 3 vise deal and the weather hasn't been warm enough for garage work - until now. DON'T WORRY - as far as I know no animals or humans were injured when the can of yellow paint exploded.

G-MAN: Thanks!. I had to wait to find a good deal but it finally happened.
