72 Inches long, much taller and deeper then the current offering. Came in at 1,500 dollars, wonder if I can use the 20% off coupon?

fridge + stereo = wasted storage, IMHO. A toolbox is a toolbox. Not only that, what happens when that proprietary p.o.s. fridge craps the bed? I would rather buy a $50 dorm fridge on craigslist and set it on top.

As for the HF box, I saw it here. It was ok, but nothing special.

what do you mean proprietary POS?

I mean, good luck finding reasonable parts to fix it, or another fridge that will fit the same space.

I may be wrong, but I would be damn surprised if you could easily substitute another fridge in there.

Not only that, but again, IMHO, a toolbox is for tools, not food and drink. Set a $50 dorm fridge on top and have the best of both worlds.

How much do you think a S.O. box similar to the harbor freight one above would cost?

Dunno, I wouldn't buy one of them, either. A guy at work rolled in a $8k Snap-On box today. 6" shallower, and 6" shorter than just the base of my Montezuma box, and not better built. It stroked his ego though to say it was Snap-On, and it had some cool car stickers stuck on it by Snap-On. If that is worth almost double the price for half the box, I guess that's his choice.

you mean you guys saw them in person? I remember a thread about these a long time ago, but I didn't know they were finally physically in the stores.

Yep, had one in the store here. IIRC, I didn't like how the slides were mounted, and there were no double slides on the big drawers, and no provisions for them, either.

Link no good.

The Specifications for this item are not currently available online, or the item has been discontinued

I would get a good used box for that kind of money.

yea used would be the best choice. there are lots of guys who get into mechanics then get out after a year or two. $1500 cash looks real good to a tech that couldn't hack the flat rate life. then you could get a so or matco box.

1500 bucks should get you a used Vidmar without even needing to shop around for it...

Good luck. Not around here at least, not even close.

Please show me one of these mystical 72" $1500 Snap-On/Matco boxes that are a year or two old.

If I had a $1500 budget, I would probably try to find a used SO, Matco or Mac box. With a SO box, you can get different drawers sizes and replace the rails (right?) whereas the HF you are pretty much out of luck.

As is typical, my budget was as little as possible. I bought the 41" HF box, and I have been buying used tools from the guys on here to fill it up. The box is quite fine for me, but I will always want a "name brand" box to replace it.

+1 to rickster for the detective work.
