Ug. Mrs Outlander and I have not been to the cottage for a couple of weeks so the bicycle repairs, flower box making and cigar smoking will probably be replaced with lawn mowing, kitchen cabinet light replacement and flower planting. She even told me I was too busy to have coffee with my friend on Saturday. [note: "you're not the boss of me" is not a marriage communication tool I would recommend]

Who am I to complain? She offered to help cut the lawn (Fitbit approved offer) and told me she and the kids want to buy me a small boat for Father's Day, but to be silent as it was supposed to be a surprise. How the hell do 5 people buy me a boat and keep it a surprise? LOL

I'll let her sleep in today. I can have coffee with my buddy tomorrow :)

About 10.5 feet. For reference, I probably had another foot and a half I could have raised the truck in this picture before the roof of the truck would hit the light above it.

My ceiling is 10' and I've been looking at two post lifts. Do you like yours? Does it have enough room to get under a full size truck?

Pulled everything out of my garage wiped everything down, dusted for cobwebs, swept and mopped the floor and put everything back in. You could eat off my floor!

There's enough room to get under my truck, but I either have to be hunched over slightly, or sit on a stool. I don't have the room to stand up and work with my hands overhead, but I knew that going into it and I'm ok with it. It's still leaps and bounds better than jacks/jack stands.

Thursday I washed and waxed both grocery getters. Quick vacuum job as well. Set them both up for car seat number three. Used the shop vac to inflate a 9' inflatable pool in the back yard. So none of my plans accomplished.

Detailed this new Tacoma. It barely fit in my garage.

Changed the oil in my wife's Fusion. I pulled my truck out of the garage to do it, and typical of my luck, 5 minutes before I was finished, it started raining. My truck was fairly clean, except for a thin layer of dust on it, so now it has big, dirty water spots all over it. And again, typical of my luck, as soon as I pulled the truck back in the garage, it stopped raining. Damn me.

My neighbor was throwing out this abused and neglected wheel barrow. I thought I'd try and save it from the landfill. I didn't know how bad it was until I pressure washed and dried it out first (it was full of gross black water). I was also hoping it was some old school wheel barrow but it turned out to be the avg True Temper. Nonetheless $50 (handles, wheel/tire and paint) and a bit of elbow grease later I think I'll get a few projects worth of use out of it for sure. It also gave me a chance to use my table saw to cut the new wedges for under the tub.

Note to self: Lemon juice works way better than vinegar for rust removal. The bolts etc came out looking almost brand new after a 48hr soak in the lemon juice. I should've taken before/after pics it was like magic.

Cleaned up from the last project. Made a whole hatful of little shepherd's crooks out of 3/16ths rod. Cleaned and painted about half of them. Tomorrow I paint the rest.

Very nice job! I'll be tackling the same job in the next week or so, my wheel barrow has seen better days and just today I wheeled it around behind the shop for sandblasting!

Assembled my new pellet smoker.
My Dear Wife has wanted a smoker for a few years and I kept saying I would build one when I got a shop (besides the garage) to work in. Well after buying the old barn and house I no longer have time for "extras" so she said "Let's just buy one"

So after our second weekend of full time camping I was ready to do some things around the house. I cleaned my Zero turn, Took the deck off and sharpened the blades and cleaned the deck, then changed the oil. Then I decided to change the oil on the power washer and the push mower that I rarely use. Pretty good afternoon.

Thanks!

Thanks- pls post before/after pics of the sand blasting if you can. That was my plan too and I went and bought the portable sand blaster from Harbor Freight, it's the one that's a gray plastic hopper with along hose and a gun. It failed miserably for me, in its defense though I only tried it with sand (fine play sand) rather than the media they sell for it (they were out) but it kept getting clogged with the sand. In the end I ended up chiseling away the flaking paint as much as I could and then went over the rest with the wire brush.

I got the lawnmower out and filled it with gas and mowed the lawn. Planted flowers for Mrs Outlander (garden tools used on my outdoor bench). Drank coffee and shopped for a small boat - my father's day present apparently :)

Since it was raining yesterday and riding was out of the picture I spent some time polishing chrome and aluminum on the Sportster and detailing the leather and vinyl.
