Matco flare nut wrench set COO?

Marco guy has a good deal for this set, couldn't see from the package if they are American or overseas. Any input is appreciated.

Just doing a quick search, there was an older USA set on eBay, and a couple of newer sets that were NOT USA. My guess would be the newer sets would be imported (Matco not being one to ever go the other way).

The markings on the non-USA were of a Z with different lines, in the same style as Apex/Gearwrench manufacturing marks.

Why in the hell would you pay anywhere near $200 for a set of flares?

While one would hope something as hard line as flare wrenches would be USA, too hard to tell with matco. I know 10 years ago when I looked at their half moon sets, they were China. Apples to oranges, but if they are willing to import those, why not flare wrenches. Also, matco is terrible at marking the USA tools. My Matco impact sockets are from way before adv and silver eagle stuff and almost non are stamped USA.

He's sell them for $150, I'd usually go snap on but he's currently got no deals.

Used Snap-on or Used/New SK will do you right. I think a full 11pc set of SAE and Metric SK new is like $160

The only wrenches they sell that are still USA made are the Combos.

You'd be much better off to buy a used Snap On set on eBay.

I'm not sold on everything saying snap on, but in this case HomeTheaterMan is 100% correct.

Well, to be fair, Apex (who made most of Craftsman's tools) also makes a lot of Matco's tools, so wouldn't surprise me

OP, I would go for SK flare nut wrenches. Many good review on here and I'd put them right up there with my Snap On Flare nut wrenches.

For that kind of money you can get both the six and 12 point Proto sets and still have money left. Industrial brands handle far more hoses and tubing flare nuts than any auto tech ever dreamed existed. Take a look at their offerings.

I've got the SK 3 piece SAE set and they're outstanding, really want a metric set if I can find one used for a good price.

Yeah flare nut wrenches go snap on if you can offord it. Sk and gray are to other good cheaper professional options

Yes the current flare nuts wrenches from Matco are Taiwan made
Snap on sk or Cornwell are all very good options

If the Matco are China made by Apex then I'm sure the Husky at HD are similar if not the same. For like $20. I bought them in a pinch and they worked well for what I needed. It would not surprise me if they are the same.
