So i have 4 stubborn exhaust studs, that i have spent days trying to get out, heat, penetrating oil, hammering...tried impact socket removers, tried the easy-out reverse drill bit things...nothing...short of just cutting them out, is there a stud extractor that would be recommended?

Thanks

I can't say for sure, but usually stuff like this sold by snap on, Matco, etc is made by Irwin/Hansen. Skip the middleman and buy direct from Irwin or the oem. I have personally use the Irwin bolt grip extractors on exhaust bolts.

Can you double nut the studs?
If the studs are getting rounded from visegripes, I would weld a nut on them.
Heat the area up good & press some wax (crayon) to it, it'll wick down the threads. Some have had luck with heating & cooling the area around the stud.

If you haven't used AeroKroil, you haven't yet tried hard enough.

Cams work well but destroy the studs.

The "best" is the Snap-On sets that use specific collets. They're made in NY by a small company exclusively for Snap-On, cost a small fortune, but grip as tight as you like and don't chew up threads.

They have standard, metric, pipe ****** sizes, and smooth for dowel pins. I have purchased sets and found individual large sizes on e-bay.

The Titan 16023 appears to be discontinued based on my limited search just now. Too bad as I have to do this exact stud removal from a converter.

Thanks for all the suggestions, was able to get my hands on the titan tool, along with aerokroil, and some proper heat, came right out.

Looked into the snap on, just couldn't justify the price as an occasional weekend warrior.

Thanks again guys...you guys rule.
