Are these tools of any value?

I received what seems to be a very good offer on these tools. The biggest catch is that I need to drive half way across the country to get them. Besides making sure this offer is real, I'm not even sure what some of these tools are or if they're worth anything.

Some look like snap-on others appear to be HF, there's rusted tools and and brand new looking kits. I am interested in building my collection of tools and enable myself to do more on my Jeep and ATVs. What do you guys think? How much is this lot worth?

I might ask about something like this. It seems to me like the guy selling it is in the trucking industry and selling it for a friend who passed away and just wants it gone. My biggest question is this even worth it. I don't feel like I can ask for a list as there's simply too much here.

I also want to check with PayPal if they'll cover me for something like uShip if the tools aren't all there upon me receiving it.

What is the asking price ?

$7500 if I pick it up.

How was it advertised? On CL? If so be careful... be VERY careful.

It's on eBay, so I could pay with PayPal. I just want to avoid the headache of a claim if I can. The seller has horrible English, I'm wondering if he's not English native or maybe dropped out of school early.

Seems like a lot of tools - painting gear, caulk guns, hand tools, etc.

Me, I'd want to see it all in person before I paid for it. the red flag for me was "English deficient"... Pay in person, in cash, on site, after you've inspected the tools. Hope they're not hot - or vaporware. (I still remember a lot of Miller Welders on eBay...)

You need to ask yourself some questions. Are you going to be able to use all of these tools? A good portion of them look like HF brands. Saw some Gear wrench and Snap-on as well. I just don't know that its worth $7500 and a trip "half-way across the country". I would be cautious at best. What is shipping or your time/gas/expenses going to cost? $7500 could easily turn into $8500.

I may just have to let this one go. Unless somebody in NC wants to take a look for me?

I'm mainly interested in the mechanics and woodworking tools.

This is my fear too. That's why I was hoping someone with a better eye than me could see if there's $10k worth here, or more like $50k. Obviously there's a lot of garbage here too (old blades, gloves, cheap or rusted tools) that I'm literally going to have to toss.

I could see selling out the tools I don't need or want to recoup for the expense of shipping/driving. Obviously if it turns out to be fake, I'm at a complete loss.

a few things that look good in there, but theres a lot of mid level stuff that theres no sense in trekking halfway across the country for

Things that caught my eye were the Hutchins sanders (square, aluminum ones on the right, the red one just looks like a cheapo) that start at around $300, and a few of the paint guns. i believe both the black guns are Sata Jet 3000's, around mid to high $300 range for used a piece, a Sata Jet 2000 in the top left, probably in the $300 range used and an Iwata in the bottom left, i cant guess what model it is, but most of their base/ clear guns are in the $500+ range new

A lot of specialty tools. If you need them, you would already know. Lot of bodywork tools, someone else would have a better opinion on their value. In hand tools, I sell value of roughly ~$1000 if it were on any auction in the Midwest.
Box is not a snap on. No idea what it is.

Didn't read all the responses, but $7,500 is way too much for what is there. When buying complete collections, you want to pay no more then 25% of retail and for that they need to be nice. Don't count on the air tools or battery tools all working because they won't.

The seller will have a very hard time finding anyone with $7500 in cash to spend on tools.

The most I have ever paid for a complete collection is $7000 and that was with a Snappy triple bay with side lockers, stainless top and packed full of mostly Snap on.

If you have cash and are patient, you will be able to buy a complete collection. You must be on the hunt for it though.
