We do have Home Depot, Lowes, Sutherlands, Ace, Tractor Supply etc but none of them carry it. I have been to all of them in my area in about a 100 mile radius.

That's odd. It is pretty standard stuff. Are you looking in the plumbing section?

Unistrut is a brand name and the strut that Home Depot sells is not Unistrut, it's made by Super Strut, a competitive product. All the nuts, brackets, etc seem to be interchangeable.

Well since my garage isn't big enough for a vehicle to get inside, I pulled the tools out and changed a buddy's rear wheel hub for him.

Still dreaming / designing / saving for my garage & separate shop. Kids will be out of college soon

I drove all day Wednesday to go retrieve a 1984 BMW "Airhead" motorcycle, got in late Wed. night, and today I hauled it to the DMV, got it titled in Idaho, and rolled it into the shop for cleanup and repairs.

Once again, the little forklift comes in handy. And I was considering building a motorcycle lift . . .

This bike was FILTHY, GREASY, DIRTY, and after I rode it to the local spray 'n wash, doused it with degreaser, thoroughly washed it and rinsed it, I still spent the afternoon today scrubbing off old oil, grease and dirt.

Found a few small repairs to attend to, tightened up the loose oil pan bolts, and took care of some other misc. maintenance stuff.

It has a long way to go to where I see it being "finished", but I am getting my parts list together for the next steps, and hope to have it on the road soon, and have something to do next winter, too.

Nice project Steevo and I am looking forward to seeing your stellar work on this as well as everything else you do.

Still working on the wiring.

I see we have another user of the painters tape wire markers. Had to do that changing a bad Emergency Stop switch at work about a week ago.

Switch stopped machine when it was pushed. Light in the switch went out when switch pulled out. Would not reset at main panel.

Time for new switch. Get one out of stock. Surprise! Different mfg. switch. Terminals I need are there, just not in same place. Wires marked, Old switch out, new switch in, machine resets and was able to be started, all good!

The miters are glued and reinforced with a biscuit. The backs are dadoed into each of the 6 sides. The individual hexagon pods are just screwed into each other with a couple of stainless screws. To attach them to the wall I used french cleats on the two outside and the middle pod. I've got a few spare parts left that had some tear out and didn't get used if I'm not making sense and need to take some pictures.

This will actually be his third car, his 89 accord was totaled last year, since then he's been driving an 85 Oldsmobile Delta 88. I had bought the olds for the motor and transmission to put in the Camaro, but I'm an idiot that didn't know it had a different drivetrain than the 85 caprice my dad had growing up. I bought the car site unseen pretty much. It was dark and in a shady part of town so I just checked and saw a 5.0 sticker and the (D) on the dash, drove it around the block and handed the guy the money.

On a side note do you guys see that pile of rust dust under the engine stand? Thats the 2nd pile that size from the water jacket of the engine. Everything else looks fantastic, but the motor sat for 6 years with water in it. Is this rebuild a waste of time?

Take the bare block and have it hot tanked ... are you having it bored, if so it'll be tanked anyway. Comes out like new.

Worked on fabricating a part to help hold my dishwasher in place because the counter top installers screwed up, and helped a buddy get set up to use my MillerMatic 210 to weld up some legs on a work table.

He's used to a little 110 flux core welder and giggled like crazy when we fired it up.

it's a little warm and humid....

spent the morning running to lowes to grab a long 6mm allen socket and some mulch, then to several dollar stores trying to find some plastic bottles with (larger) screw tops to make a diesel injector leakoff tester.
finally found some at bed bath and beyond

mounted the bottles to a piece of scrap PVC pipe, and of course i forgot to grab the hose i need from the shop yesterday when i left

putzed around for a while had the radio cranked up and had a couple beers

How do you like that Millermatic? I've been thinking of getting the Millermatic autoset 140 or the Millermatic 211 Auto-Set MIG welder. I am not a serious welder. Just a hobbyist. Just thinking that I'd rather go with a bit more bang from the start.

I figured out the trailer wire issues. It wasn't trailer wire issues, one of the diodes I'd installed 20 years ago to feed the trailer plug had broken and all the connectors needed to be unplugged and re-seated. I made up a new diode jumper, installed it, and plugged in the trailer and every light worked perfect.

Then I re-greased the wheel bearings. (last licence tag was near 20 years ago so it was due.

Ready to move my daughter next week, and that much closer to being ready for camping.

Carved a titanium pocket clip. Milled a fuller on it with a 3/16 ball end mill, took it to a wire wheel brush to orange peel it, then ran it through 20 cycles of heating it red hot and quenching in Windex to blacken it. It's the simple things right?
