The wooden handle tool board came out great and the gas caddy is a awesome piece, can't wait to see it after the master is finished with it![]()

Wow, hosting hundreds of people, you're the man. It is awesome that you open your place up. I imagine there were a lot of ohh and awes and I can't imagine.
The first annual national Garage Journal hoe down, Don style has a nice ring to it.
And since you don't have many tools, admission is one antique tool.
Love the heart wheels on the cart. Maybe name your own gas company, use the colors of bright red, bright yellow and green?
All right real hot rods, those that are driven!
My wife is a West Virginny. It would interesting if she knew any of your guest. Thank you again for sharing everything you love (except Mrs. Long)
Don, please tell me you've got more pics of those beauties![]()

Papers are ultra cool.
I like that.
I always enjoy reading articles and looking at the ads. Shows how some things are the same and how technology as changed.
On a bitter sweet note is those headlines. 1944, the U.S. A proud nation that kicked ***, now 2016 a whipped nation.![]()
The headlines are interesting as well. It shows how little we worried about being Politically Correct back then. Now days our culture seems to worry more about not hurting the feelings of anyone, enemies included. The papers show a very interesting bit of our history and culture shift. Should be another good addition to your collection.
On the first paper it has a news article about suspect being caught in the phone booth? What did he do?
Its funny that young kids today wouldn't know what a phone booth was
Hi Don,
Love those newspapers-look forward to seeing them in August!
cheers david
how many of the tortoise do you have? Where on earth did you get him or her? They are so cool, is it able to stay outside all the time?

Don, yet again just awesome work.
Your attention to detail is just amazing.
Regards
Pump is looking good Don! Neat tortoises too! Are they pretty low maintenance to keep healthy?
Don: cool looking Turtles. do they pretty much stay in one area and are they pretty easy to take care of?
Yes they are very happy just roaming around their yard keeping the grass cut short
I'm looking forward to seeing the finished gas cart. when you say replace old galvanized and steel pipe with brass are you buying NEW PIPE or do you have a stockpile of old brass pipe laying around? also do you have one or more chrome guys that do your chrome work and about what would it cost to chrome that amount of parts?
Unfortunately no brass scrap pile, so its new pipe @ about $50.00 per foot
4 2 foot pipes $400.00 I ordered them today.
I have 2 sources for chrome high quality and cheap. Quality chrome will set me back around $350.00 and if I go cheap it might run $225.00 for that stack of metal so nuts and bolts go cheap and the handles and rods will be good quality
funny you say there is a BIG PARTY in the near future at your place and we barely heard about one that had 600-700 people there. how many people are in a BIG PARTY?
cheers and keep up the great work.
As I had mentioned earlier, We had a group of guys (33) stop by today to tour the garage. They were from West Virginia, Texas and Arizona. The W. Virginia guys drove their hot rod all the way from home

It was a fun afternoon
Hi Don. I had to check your thread to get caught up and see what you've been up to. All I can say is WOW!!!!! As always, just utterly fantastic. Hopefully someday I can see your place in person. (that and to check out my phone booth. LOL!!!)
We keep war years issues of Look and Life and Colliers magazines in our guest rooms.
I have a hundred or so that we rotate.
I have war era Popular Mechanics and Road and Track[or equivalent] [one explained how to screw a set of treads from a bad tire onto your good casing] in the shop.
Just something to consider....
Great work on the gas cart, amazing attention to detail. This thing is going to be beautiful when completed, Have you decided on the theme or brand that your going to use?
Don: looks like an even more fun spot than your garage. so the myths or rumors about the Colorado river drying up don't seem to be true?
i agree paying the price to have a job done right the first time is SOOOOO worth it and especially if he's a friend too.
cheers and looking forward to more shiny objects and of course all those farm fresh finds you seem to come across on a daily basis.
