I need a 23mm standard and deep impact socket (ball joint on Mazda6 and first gen Ford Fusion). What brands sell individual sockets especially non-standard sizes ?

What places stock a good selection of singles ?

Sunex from Amazon. Good if you have Amazon prime since its 2 day shipping.

For a random size socket, Amazon would be my first stop. I usually check Cripe as well.

My local SK/Performance tools/Sunex dealer would be the first B&M I would try followed by: Napa, Advance, and finally Auto Zone.

It all depends on how quickly you need it, and how often it is going to be needed after the job that you need it for. A couple of years ago, I needed a 12 point impact socket for a VW crank seal, I bought a Sunex off Amazon and I have not used it since then. So I'm glad I went cheap, or didn't buy the entire set.

Doesn't every brand sell individual sockets?

No. Everybody's love it or hate it store, Harbor Freight doesn't. I don't think anyone sells individual IR impact sockets either.

Online there are too many to name. However, I'd probably get one from your local NAPA.

When I was working on filling all the pegs on my plastic trays I used Lowes/Kobalt, NAPA/Carlisle, Zoro Tools, and MSC Industrial. Between them I had all pegs filled in short order. I had lots of oddball pegs to fill, as I wanted six/twelves, standard/deep, chrome/impact. :)

Ebay. Most any brand you would ever want.
I'm still looking for a few, but I've managed to find quite a few onesie-twosies to complete sets. Takes a lot of time and patience.

I wasn't even considering HF. I figured if someone asked a question like that, they wanted something "good".

If I was "starting over" I would seriously consider HF/Pittsburgh sockets. They are probably equivalent to Craftsman at a fraction of the price.

FYI - 23mm is a "weird dog". Been a DIY wrench for almost 50 years and this is the first time I have a need for that size.

I think I used a 29/32nd for a similar job. The difference is less than .001".

Lowes has individual sockets

Yeah, because I can find 29/32 everywhere. LOL

Great, I'll never need it, but now I feel like I have to buy every 23mm socket available.... 3/8", 1/2" drive; chrome and impact; standard and deep... Does anybody make a semi-deep 23mm socket? :lol_hitti

I canceled my order for Armstrong ("Good. We can't get anything from them.")

Order Sunex from Amazon. Cost less also and I have Prime.
