I stumbled across this site a while ago and lurked for a couple weeks.

Next I became a member. Not sure why, but I did. (Must be your bad influence).

Now, I'm starting a thread! You guys ARE a bad influence!
I've gotten interested in making my garage a "more presentable" place to store
My 69 Vette. And a lot of other "stuff" that I'm just not ready to put in a landfill,
but will most likely never use enough to justify keeping. (that includes the vette)

First of all, you guys are an inspiration. And my "white hat" goes off to you! I'm just an old guy (64) nothing deviating in my life. Just trying to find a hobby to occupy myself after I retire in another year.

If I'm babbling to much, I apologize in advance.

Welcome fellow Coloradoan.

Not the first time I was told I am a bad influence... no doubt not the last either. ;)

The stuff you learn is almost worth the bad influence... almost! Thus far I have been able to resist making the garage neater because of a combination of laziness, adult attention deficit disorder .. . "Look a squirrel" ! AND most importantly the infamous work avoidance gene....

But yes.... . this place is a bad influence... more toys on the horizon.

I just lost a posting, so I'm doing it over. I hope this isn't a duplicate post.
After sheetrocking the unfinished portion of the garage. It needed paint.
With the variation of colors, I primed it. Twice.

The previous owners left ceiling paint behind. Now I understand. After three coats. Wanting a fourth I decided that my wife, the boss, is right. "It's only a garage"
So 3 coats it is.

Bad influence? In that case don't look at the "show us your new tool arrivals" thread

Welcome and let's see some pictures of the car!

Yes we are
We are not really a support group but rather a bunch of pushers promoting our drug of choice.

Look bud before you go calling us a bad influence at least let us earn that title. Now hand over your address and a credit card number and we'll get you outfitted in our illustrious fashion. ;)

Well, I personally enjoy being a Bad Influence every chance I get. :D I lived in Colorado for over ten years and miss the scenery.

Don't blame us for your weakness to overcome peer pressure.

Welcome the board it only gets worse from here. You'll find things you didn't know existed and that you didn't know you even needed.

Before you show us your garage, show us your wallet. We'll empty it for vises and compressors and wrenches and...............

Welcome!

I must warn you, after a while we'll be the only ones that will understand and appreciate that your garage will be nicer than some people's living rooms. Neighbors will scratch their heads, your wife will nod in agreement with your choices but roll her eyes toward her gray matter whenever she blinks during garage talk (it's not a seizure, she's fine) but when you come here and share with us, we'll be right there with ya, on the same page.

:D

Don't listen to these guys. Garageoflenzia is actually much worse than they have described. Not saying this to scare you off, you are already hooked, but to motivate you to prepare your primary responsibilities; job, wife, children, girfriend, etc. for neglect now while you have the time to do it. Garageoflenzia is a progressive condition that requires an ever increasing amount of time and focus as time goes by. In it's terminal stage the patient only comes in to eat, shower, reproduce, post on the JG, sleep and make the occasional trip to town for more materials.

With the support and influence I'm receiving, good or BAD, I've put my paint brush away until more funds are available. Five gallons of primer. Three coats of ceiling paint. Two coats on the walls. (the walls are much easier than the ceiling). I'm thinking that the wife has made an appointment with a therapist. I'm researching floor coatings.

"Re: You people are a "BAD" influence." You make that sound like it's a bad thing. Face it, if there was no bad, how would we know good?

(Oh, and for the posting of the redhead a bit ago; I read recently that scientists believe that the gene for red hair originated from one person's mutation. I guess all redheads are somehow related.)

You know you're under the influence when you buy tools that not only don't you need ... you can't even identify. You see them on here from time to time like zombies. They post pics trying to infect others.

Thanks for the "welcome" lakeroadster and Streetrod. Being from Colo, your not too far away if I need a tool or a helping hand. I just might be calling, as I'm close to be starting storage cabinets.
I have beer in the fridge. But no snacks!

HCNDM, thanks for looking, your from a long way from here.
The wife and I like to travel. The Netherlands are on the bucket list. Pictures of your country just might make it happen "sooner" than "later"

Bigbandguy, what part of North Carolina, a few years ago, we visited Boone for a week in the fall. Site seeing along the blue ridge parkway, beautiful country. I would like to spend more time there.
