ok i renting this garage thats 2,000 sq. going to install one 10,000 2 post lift. i already power washed it once with a 3,100 psi Simpson power washer with the PowerFit PF31023B Surface Cleaner, 15-Inch. then scraped the heavy spots and applied 5 gallons of oil eater degreaser. then power washed again with the "powerfit". 90% better. but i still have yellow paint from painted snow plows with Fisher yellow paint. i have tired to scrape it and looks hard to remove. i do not wanted to paint the floor. scared of it peeling on me, but i would like to seal it makes cleaning up easy. thinking about a acid wash of some kinda. what are you guys thoughts.

You could try some concrete acid but if the paint is that heavy concrete grinder would be the best.

Go to Lowe's and get a bunch of the thin plastic painters drop sheets and a bunch of Simple Green, soak the floor, then spread the plastic over it and leave it for a day or so. The sheets will keep the simple green from evaporating and let it "eat" the grease and paint. Then pressure wash it again and use a wet/dry vac on it. Then use the acid on it if it needs it.

I know for thread compound for casing and tubing. Its a little messy but works is Scrubbing the Floor with Varsol and then a hot powerwash. I also heard that a great cleaning solution is Varsol and Kerosene. Just don't smoke. Ive never tried the Varsol and Kerosene Mixture. So I can't vouch for it.

I had 30 year-old oil stains in my workshop before I tiled.

Concrete is porous. It won't come up in one application. I did a combination of a week with cat litter sitting on it and then, multiple applications of citrus floor degreaser/cleaner (ZEP), leaving it on long enough to soak in and then thoroughly hosing it off and letting it completely dry before repeats. I must have done 6 washes. My RedGard stuck on it like glue.

Try paint remover for the painted spots. Some paints won't soften.

Acid is for etching concrete. It does little if anything for paint or grease.
I like the simple green idea. A customer recently had good success with some rattle can overspray using the simple green.

Caustic flake, water and a floor scrubber with good dense bristle head. Caustic flake is a emolsipher and will draw the oil contaminates out of substrate. Tide detergent is a a super watered down version. But if you go this route basically you need a body condem, this stuff is down right nasty and will eat right thru skin and meat if you don't rinse yourself off immediately.

I did the same thing with a paste made of diatomaceous earth and naptha. It dissolved the oil and sucked it right out of the wood.

Am I missing something? Why put a lot of effort into cleaning the concrete of a rented space?

I learned this when I spilled a gallon of paint in the back of my G/F's horse trailer from a guy at Lowe's. It's worked pretty good on a bunch of stuff after that.

I've previously used Varsol; when I could still get it. I'd soak the floor in it where it was real greasy, scrub it in with a stiff shop broom, then soak it up with oil dry. It'd **** the grease out of the floor. Then I'd pressure was it to get the oil dry that was left up.

CONCUR !

I usually use Greased Lightning straight. Scrub in lightly and let sit over night (non hot days, don't put it down until early evening). Next day, hose if off. Pressure washer not required.

The trick is to let it dry completely before your next application. Twice is usually enough for me spills.
