69 Fastback GT is one of my dream cars. I've owned Fox bodies, SN-95's, New Edges, S197's, everything from 79 on. One of these days I'll get my hands on a 69 Fastback. Until then I'll have to settle for my 03 Cobra, but I'm on the hunt.

You will absolutely need a Ford Racing Performance Parts sign, that's the corner stone of every good Ford garage.

These one's are some of my favorites too.

I go to Ford Motorsport Nationals at ATCO every year and on the last day, they let you take whatever signs you want. Any banners that are hanging from the fences or advertisements that are hanging just for the weekend are yours to take. I have a bunch of them.

I am a mustang nut but do not yet have a mustang garage.
things I have collected for the future mustang garage
ford neon sign (from dealer)
motorsport banner
vintage FoMoCo dealer posters
70s gas pump that will be redone with a mustang scheme
factory aluminum manifolds to hang on the walls

a couple of things I have thought about doing to the garage

paint the profile of another mustang on the wall so it looks like there is another one in the next bay
paint the walls to look like the inside of a dealership
blue and grey checkerboard floor

Mine's not as nice as many of these guys, but you can see many of the Ford stuff hanging on the walls. See my sig for my garage thread.

im redoing my 2 bay garage at this time so i dont have any great pics, but here is the color combo im painting at the moment. Silver bottom, dark grey stripe, Ford blue stripe, and then white. I raised one bay ceiling from 10'2" to 13'6" for my 4 post lift. Planning on parking my mustang up top and my f150 below.
sorry for all the junk in the pic. I had it up on the lift while i was working.

just painted this wall the other day

Guys,
Where did you get those banners and neons? I'm redoing my garage and I just finished restoring my 73' Mustang Ragtop and would like to hang some Mustang/Ford stuff on the walls....

Most banners and Neon can be found at Ebay. Ditto on the Ford banners sold through Ford Racing. I got mine via Summit Racing.

Your neons are amazing ... nice work, man. Where'd you get that HUGE Ford neon? A Dealership?

Thanks for the nice comment. The large Ford neon on porcelain, double-sided sign came from Fred Sayre Motors in Ripley, West Virginia. It was taken down from the front of the dealership in the late 60's when a new sign was installed (as mandated by Ford Motor Company). The sign spent the next few years in storage untill Mr. Sayre contacted me to ask if I might be interested in owning the sign. Incidently, the other Ford oval sign was obtained from the same gentleman. It had hung in the showroom against the front window for as long as I could remember, but I had never seen it lit-up until I got it home and plugged the transformer into an outlet. Imagine my surprise when it lit up in bright colors! Both signs were manufactured by the Mulholland Sign Company in Kalamazoo, Michigan in the 1930's. I have a copy of the original sign company sales brochure showing both signs.

Jim

The cabinets are basically powdercoated steel sheet metal ones that my father gave me to use from his work. It's actually the parents garage on their house but it was bare studs and insulation that was chewed up from mice since mid 80s. I gutted it and did everything by myself besides connecting the 100A service. Running that wire through a 3' crawl space sucked.

3 switches, 220 for my compressor, 220 for my welder, 220 for the A/C, 8 dual T8 lights, 7 outlets, insulated all the walls with r13 and ceiling with r30. Drywall on the ceiling is a pain, nothing is centered anymore from never having much of anything "joining" them to keep center so landing the ends was/is a pain.

Most all supplies were paid for by the parents, labor was by me so I could claim it for now. I do some body/paint and upholstery work out of it. Last 2 cars before the Cobalt that I'm working on now was some work on a 72 Challenger and a 66 Chevelle SS.

It still needs alot of work unlike many of these garages but it's a start.
