This should be interesting.. I have no idea what it is, but if I had to guess, I'd say it's a part from some automated manufacturing line.
My guess as well, someone may know exactly. I posted in practical machinist as well.

Yep, definitely a variable displacement pump. You're still some parts though and I doubt those innards would have a part number on them to tell you what it was from. Where are you "finding" these?

looks like the inside of a hydraulic pump guts. Kind of like they use on aircraft hanger doors. Lots of torque at low flow rate to get doors started and then lower pressure but more fluid flow once the door start to move. Saw something similar in an old Wheel horse hydraulic mowe 50 years ago. I think Sunstream or something like made it.

It was in a tool box I bought for other tools and I was curious if this was something that someone may need or whatnot.

Somewhere around here (in the UK)
Concur it looks like a variable displacement pump or as we call them in the UK a "swash plate" pump.

Used in all sorts of things including excavators. A quick google search of "hydraulic excavator swash plate pump" brought up lots of images and links including: -

What about a bent axis rotating group & cylinder block for a hydraulic motor? What stinks us I can't identify from what motor it comes from. It's brand new, but without proper ID I can't figure out a value or really sell it. It's cool enough to use as a paper weight lol

All I know is that when someone figures out what it is I'm getting one to sit on my desk at work... That's pretty cool.

If the comments above are right I'm going to the junkyard to find one. lol

It be a great paperweight. I'd sell it if you're serious. I've got a ton of tools as paperweights. My office is hoarderesque.

I don't think its new, that's not a service part that just anyone would have. Since its from a hyd pump or motor, it is bound to be very clean and new-looking, even after years of service.
