does it hurt to run rg6 across a roof

i am putting a tv antenna on the roof and i am going to use rg 6 cable and i was thinking is it safe weather wise or do i need to figure out a way to cover the cable as i live in tx and it gets hot does it hurt the cable to lay up there with nothing covering it or does it need to be covered for protection from the elements all ideas greatly appreciated thanks

Mine just lay about 20' across the flat roof before it gets to climb the antenna.... been fine for past 10+ years. Thought I don't live in Texas.... the roof does experience high heat because it's black and snow + ice. I used those quad shield ones, the better ones.

I put mine in the attic And ran the cable to the manifold in the closet. Less signal loss with short runs too.
