Who here has ever had to deal with them for a warranty issue? If anyone would share their experience, I would love to hear it.

Thanks guys.

"thinking" about pulling the trigger on their new I-mig 275. I've read a few horror stories trying to resolve warranty issues.

If I pull the trigger on a Red or Blue machine, I don't have to worry about it.

yeah. I'm a hypocrite, Everywhere else i dont skimp, but looking at it this way its practically a throwaway. The powerarc I got for 245.00 free shipping versus the comparable Miller for 1799.99. Dont get me wrong I'd MUCH rather have the miller but for a seldom used practice machine I think I'll take the everlast.
I didnt do THAT much research on it, I just have a couple of friends that love their everlast machines

Yeah, I can get lincoln 256 for about 2500 bucks, but no pulse and less duty cycle. The Imig has pulse and a bunch of other options for 2000 bucks.

Lincoln has a 3 year warranty
Everlast has a 5 year (so they say)

The new AHP heavy duty MIG seems like the absolute nuts. This machine just came out. Check out Chuckie2009 (or whatever he calls himself) on YouTube. Lance mostly tells it like it is and he was mucho impressed and the price is ridiculous. A lot of people LOVE the Alpha TIG 200 machine.

I have an Everlast PowerArc 200ST and it's been pretty nice to use. One of their folks has been super active on Tractor By Net and I've spoken to him a couple of times....I'm sure he'd help out if a warranty issue came up. I've seen a couple of reviews that talked about problems getting warranty service, but none when I've seen the folks post over at TBN, where a lot of folks have Everlast welders.

Jimbo's Garage on youtube uses Everlast equipment..... He had an issue with his plasma cutter..... It took about 4 months for it to get fixed and returned back to him. I think he's a member here, or look him up on youtube and send him a message. I'm sure he would be glad to fill you in on the details. He was not happy.....

Edit: This is his recent video talking abot the plasma cutter problem.

He gets paid by them... I don't know how much that is "telling it like it is".

Maybe you're not a hypocrite, just smart.

It's always interesting, the seeming mindset of this forum, is that if a good product cost $2500, a competing product that cost $250, must be a *************.

The $2500 Miller sells repair parts, so obviously they don't last forever out of the box. If you don't weld for six hours a day, your $250 welder might last you for years and if you can't get a part for it you will likely pitch it in the scrap pile and get something else.

They probably sell tens of thousands of the welder you're interested in, it gets good reviews from even experienced welders, and your friends like using it.

Is it not a wise purchase, just because it cost only 250 bucks? IMO I can't imagine why somebody would pay $2500 for a welder they use occasionally

I want to try one of the stick machines like the Maxstar S. They are about 220$ or so and if they were nearly as efficient they would be a real deal.

Lance gets paid by everybody (Miller, Everlast, Longevity, Hypertherm, Thermal Arc, etc. The only company that hasn't blown him is Lincoln but he never has said a bad word about them. He seems to be a straight shooter and he openly admits to these people giving him free **** or paying him. The proof is in the welds and the AHP stuff seems to give outstanding performance for the money. The TIG is legendary, the new little stick seems amazing for the price and the big time MIG has an industrial duty cycle. It does seem worth a look.

I agree that he seems like a good guy (I think his name is spelled Lanse), but that doesn't change that he is paid to say stuff. He also over exaggerates how amazing everything comes out and builds some really wonky **** like that tractor. I would just take any of it with a grain of salt.

I have a 256
Sent it back on arrival for the case hitting a positive lug inside.
Sent me a new one(actually a used one. I told them i wanted the one they used in the shop so I'd know it wasn't a problem again)
They did what they were supposed to.
No complaints, but this was 5 years or so ago.
They have a nice forum.

Thanks for that. The 256 is on the short list as I have 3 lincoln dealers within 30 minutes of me.

I am worried about dealing with the warranty of everlast and AHP, They are still on the list as I am still doing homework.

Yeah, he didn't get into detail. 4 months of down time is pretty long IMO.

Looks like a nice machine. Just worried about warranty issues. Still looking for people who have dealt with them.

I agree, thats why I posted Jimbo's story. 4 months is waaay to long to wait for repair. He expressed his displeasure in various other videos over the past few months while doing projects, and needing his plasma cutter, and not having it because it was STILL out for repair.
