We built our new garage over the winter and finally had a chance to do a floor coating.
After going round and round about which coating I wanted I finally settled on Armorpoxy SPGX for ease of prep and installation.
First a big thanks to Armorpoxy and their 40% discount for GJ members...

How many coats did you do?

Looks great by the way

Thanks! Just one.

I was really up in the air about doing one or two coats. I was advised by the fine people at Armorpoxy that it was really up to the customer and how porous the concrete is to really know for sure. Chris, the salesman, figured 3 gallons may not quite be enough (for one coat) so he suggested sending me four and then return the fourth if I didn't need it. I just applied it a little heavier and ended up with about 1/4 gallon that I will use for touch ups down the road if need be.

Looks great! This is the clear, right?

Also, what's the square footage? I understand 1 gallon should cover 300 sq ft, which would put you at ~1200 sq ft based on the 4 gallons used.

Yes, it's clear.

The garage is 28.5' X 40' so about 1050 square feet total. I used about 3 1/3 gallons ( i applied it a little heavy on purpose) which worked out perfect to have a little left over for touch ups.

Ford,

That looks great!!

I am just in the final stages of our new shop build (26x38) and trying to decide of a floor finish
I really like the clear coat you did

Is that a satin clear? added anti-slip additive to it?

any regrets for not doing a color tint?

Thanks, Jeff

Not sure if satin or not, but this is what I ordered https://store.armorpoxy.com/mm5/mer...=A&Product_Code=SPGX-GAL&Category_Code=AULTRA

Yes, one pack of anti-slip per gallon.

I wanted a gray floor with colored flakes but went with this for ease of installation. I'm not sure what the gray tint would have looked like, so I just went with the clear.

Only thing I would have done different is two thinner coats as apposed to one heavy coat. I have some pin holes where water can seep through to the concrete and looks like oil spots until it dries, which can take days...

This is probably my 15th fox, my first was an 86 5.0 coupe that I drove in high school in 1989. That's why I wanted another.

I'm a Ford guy, but I did buy a 94' Vette back in 1997, great car, I have a lot of respect for them. But I bleed blue lol.
Looks great!

Congrats!

Thanks all

Was your floor power throwled ? I guess so since it looks really smooth. My concrete looks the same and wondering if i should just etch or grind it out .

I say grind. My floor was new/power troweled and it was really stubbord to etch. I used a ton of acid and really wish I could have found a diamabrush (not in my area)

BIG question.....Does it scratch easily? I applied a similar looking product on a shop of mine, TRAZ 25. It looked great until I rolled a cart with plastic casters which caused it to scratch badly, it only weighed 25lbs and went all the way through to the concrete.

I am in the process of applying Armorpoxy SPGX as well.

I completed the acid etch and power wash on Monday. It is a newly poured concrete garage (few months old), so I feel like the acid didn't do much. I did not have the right brush to really grind it in.

I let it dry for two days. I filled in the saw cuts with Shermax caulk sealant today.

Tomorrow I plan to apply the first coat of SPGX. I bought the gray with specks.
Friday I will apply the second coat, clear, with the anti slip.

Any tips for my first coat tomorrow?
