KMScott: Your foot locking vise sent me searching through my recently damaged files to see what I could find. I didn't find your vise but I did find several variations. Here is the patent page for one of them. At the same time I found several variations of vises with a gear rack on top of the slide so I included one of those too. All of these patent drawings were in a file labeled "Not known to have been produced". Despite that, after seeing the drawing for the 1892 Cowell vise I have upped the limit on my credit card just in case I ever see one. Check out the decorations!
The first article showing the Crowl is similar but not the same. But that H.P. Hood kind of looks like this one. The ratcheting vise has Copied Parker on the jaws, or maybe Parker made these.

This one has a horn. Pretty cool vise.
Joe, the (I think it is a Prentiss) Swivel jaw is 7-1/2" wide jaws The only markings says
78 1/2 Y. Sure looks like a Prentiss. Missing a spindle nut and thinking about trying to make one.
