I made a thread but I cant find it so here is another:

Anyway, here is a little tool I did and love. Stand I made out of Plywood and yellow cedar. I milled a new spindle, changed the bearings and rebuilt the motor. I also have a reverse Drum switch on it's way. I would love to find a pile of vintage shaper bits next.

Even the small tools take more time, money and techincal head scratching than original anticipated :)

Very nice job. I had a similar Walker-Turner Driver series machine but ended up selling it rather than restoring it. I see that you've got the hold downs. Mine were missing, as was the tabbed washer that kept the cutters from coming loose. It certainly was a nice machine though, mounted to a custom wood table. It came with a whole drawer full of cutters and unique little sharpening stones. It also came with the original reversing switch which was kind of a surprise. I hope the new owner has put the full collection to use.

By the way, when you are logged in, if you click on your name in the upper right where it says Welcome, AdrianBoomer, that will take you to your profile. Then click on the statistics tab. Under statistics there are links to see all the threads you have started, and separately, all the threads you have contributed to. Don't know if that helps.

The manual I have recommends 1/2 - 3/4 hp to achieve around 8000rpm I think... what do you have going on there. Mine will eat an oak stair tread to an extent before bogging on a 3/4hp. I would probably do a bullnose with two passes and a slower feed if I had to do that.. but not optimal. I don't know how much to expect from my 411.

Thanks for the compliments. The machine came with 10 boxes of Long "C" craftsman bits, mostly tongue and groove and slots but a few molding bits as well.

I used Rustoleum Sage Green which is a very close match to the original color.

I will update on how the reverse drum switch works out.
