help with Hydraulic Jack

i got a 8 ton bottle jack that was in the garage for a while. Yesterday, i got it out and try do a lift. it would not lift. without load, if i pump it, it would go up about 2 inches, but i can press the saddle and it would go back down. Thats after i try bleeding it. Should I do more bleeding? Is the bottle jack salvageable?

Stop guessing and remove the tank nut and pull the Main Ram and check the Seal, sound like its compromised.
