Hi guys- having trouble nailing down the identity of this band saw that I'm about ready to pull the trigger on. Seems that saws of this vintage are supposed to be serial numbers like 110XXXX, but this one is 11 5342. Suggestions?

I have one very similar I just inherited from my Dad. Can't really see the first numbers on the plate, and mine doesn't have as much clearance above the table.

Got an update from the seller- 16" model, and currently wired for 230v. Also sent another pic.

Those are great saws. One thing to check is the blade tracking assembly (not the tension) to see if it has been broken. Look at the adjusting wheel to see if it is vertical. If it's at a slight angle chances are the assembly is broken inside. Hard to find.

That's the difference in then, mine is a 14", has the same shape for the tag on the top cover but mine is missing.

I do have the cast belt cover, and gearbox on mine though.

This one has the gearbox and cast belt guard, too. That's the only reason I'm considering it, honestly. Want something I can cut metal with.

That makes it even better. I use a WT 14" with the gearbox all the time.

Since I inherited mine, and Dad isn't around to show me how to use it, I had to figure out the gearbox on mine. Not too bad once you figure out the lever, and locking pin.
