Just curious...
What are the staggered items sticking-up near the front edge of the roof?
I think the items you're talking about are knee braces. I could not find a pic of the ones I built for my house. But, here is a photo I pulled up on Google to give you the idea.

I'm not sure what the proper terminology of them are called but they keep ice from sliding down in the winter. A shingled roof does not have to worry about it because of the rough surface, but a metal roof needs something to hold back the ice and snow. If you notice on most commercial buildings, you will see them above doorways and where pedestrian traffic is and not the rest of the building. There have been a few people killed by falling ice.
SHMO,
Please make your next post a new thread showing your build.
Jim

under construction- 38' x 19'5" CAMO paint job
1- man door 2-8 x 9 sectional doors on ends and 2 Factory doors on the sides.
Okay, just guessing: an old 737? I see Sun Country, I think, on the side. But how the hell did you get that there, wherever it is?!?
Close- it's a DC-10 from Sun Country. Lots of work just to get the skin, Cranes, lift trucks, man lifts, and low boy trailers. sliced it into 10ft sections inorder to get it down the highway
One question, how does a person buy one of these?![]()

Very cool. Hopefully, it'll be more stable for you than it was on landing... I hated flying in that thing back when they were commercial liners. That, the MD11 and L1011 were awful planes. You could look down the cabin on touchdown and see the whole fuselage torquing. Terrifying.
What are the plans for the build? Looks like an old quonset hut. Remember those?
>> "peddlingmotors.com"I have a post to tell ya about the bike shop -"Justa plain shop- lol" It's going to be mostly for bikes to hang from the ceiling, to motorize them.>> "peddlingmotors.com"

Didn't build it, just found it and bought it in 1996. Wife's living area is 1680 square feet - mine is 700. Hers has appliances, furniture and bathroom fixtures. Mine has cabinets, workbenches, compressor, tool chests and two Corvettes. She lets me use one of her toilets and half a bed and I let her park her PT Cruiser in my third bay. Probably how we've stayed married for 47+ years.

Been wanting to post some pics of my shop here, but after seeing some of you guy's places, mine is sorta just plain. I have been in the process of interior remodeling and relocating. Maybe one day.........?![]()

Teach,
That is one great looking garage. Super design and detail work.
Sounds like you were able to deal with the red tape, get a permit, and build a really nice period building.
Any pictures of the interior you could post?![]()
