Yes I looked it up after the kids went to bed last night. It checks pressures. I would love to post a pic of the old Winchester but with the Commy gun laws in this state you cant walk out of a gun store with any gun that day.....even if you have a CCW and wore a gun INTO THE STORE.

Picked this up for 10 bucks. I got there at the end. The guy running the sale said they sold 9 tool boxes full of ratchets and sockets, makes me wonder what I missed!

Very nice find.
I have the 9-52113 and 9-52114 rethread tap sets I found at an estate sale earlier this year. I've been looking for the 9-52115 and 9-52116 die sets to match, but so far no luck.

Nice! I have a 9-52111 set which is 1/4 to 3/4 coarse thread dies

Stumbled across two sale and a TOO. Late in the afternoon after a hot day at work. I was surprised the sale were still going on in the high humidity and temps at or near 3 digits. I managed a few bargains left over from what I'm sure was a mad rush this morning. I can't imagine why any of it was left... My gain!
NIB Miller Falls 4" Bull nose rabbet plane $1.00
Bishop patent back saw -1906 $5.00
Robeson suredge pocket knife $1.00
8" 1950's Craftsman arbor $2.00
6" Indian Chief post vise - This was from the TOO. They were asking $200.00 I talked them into a buck a pound... $115.00 Still pretty high for these parts but not one you come across every day. There were actually two of them there and I gave them my number incase it didn't sale . I've had maybe 50 or more of these post vise and usually do pretty well on them . This is the first one I've had that went over 100 pounds so I'm pretty pleased

And the Ford dealer tag is likely from one of my Grandfather's 20 or so cars he bought there. The dealership is now defunct but it's a neat memento. One of the original owner's sons (a now 71 year old retired Doctor) is a member at our gym here in town and we regularly talk about back home and their garage.

That is pretty cool. I'd find some two sided tape and stick it on an old toolbox.

I think $115 sounds pretty good for a 6" Indian Chief. Those are nice well-made post vises. That one looks like a nice one! Who made those? Was it Columbus Iron & Forging Co.?

That Plomb is awesome. I also see a Shelton Socketool set in there. Kind of crazy to me, since I just scored one Saturday(a few pages back) and had no idea what it was until I posted it here.

Is that cardboard box original to the set?

My Appleton explosion proof light. Bought it for $20. Did a full restore. Has a 30 watt LED bulb. Awesome light. Waterproof as well. Just sooo cool looking. Glass bezel is 1/2" thick. Weighs 30-40 lbs.

Top: I also like that Indian Chief Blacksmith vise.

Joe: Great job on that light!!!

Doing a little catch up from Thurs/Fri garage sales.

Pic 1 & 2--On Thurs, fellow yard sale buddy brought a vise to sell and it was a small Wilton Vise around 10 inches long, with 4" jaws and about that in max opening.

Sometimes referred to as 121079, but which probably was the cast number on this Pat Pending vise when it was mfg.

The vise is a swivel variety, but it also can partially rotate from 9 to noon o'clock.

Pic 3 & 4--A cast iron goose neck wall attachable light that is 25 inches from front to back. Total weight is 13 pounds.

Pic 5--Heavy Duty Ammo case

Pic 6 & 7-- L to R--Craftsman USA #55678 18" pipe wrench, Ridgid 14" USA pipe wrench, 15" Diamond Calk Horseshoe Co adjustable wrench and a 10" Proto #710-5 adjustable wrench.

Saw these Snap On diagnostic tools at a sale in Minneapolis, and a Napa creeper like the one in the pic, but in pristine condition. They wanted 10 bucks apiece for the snap on stuff, and 20 for the creeper, if any Minneapolis GJ members are interested.

Sitting in the office absolutely bored out of my mind. Thinking I'm going to leave early and hit some sales... not a single sale advertised for this afternoon

Oh well... Guess I'll just go home ;)

6'' Indian Chief for $115.00 sure sounds cheap cheap to me. The larger ones like a 6'' are extremely rare in my area. I do have a Indian Chief post vise which measures 5 1/4'' wide jaws. I don't know if that is considered a 5'' or if it is a 5 1/4''.

This.

I just finished my last meeting for the day. I'm sitting here in air conditioned comfort reading Garage Journal. The clock says 2:30. Tick tock. The weekend is ... right .... there....

I wonder if there's anything good on Craigslist?

An estate and two yard sales were a bust today. First one I asked "Any tools for sale today?". The lady responded "Who?". :lol_hitti

She did have a new old stock Donald Trump Signature Series dress shirt :lol_hitti

Last, I hit one more estate sale and they had mostly broken and junk tools. Got to dig around the garage and round up a few things though.

PIC 1 -I guess the theme continued when I found the Capitol Oil can.

PIC 2-Also a Chief vise

PIC 3-broken shoe shine foot rest, hay hook?

PIC 4-Kodak film can, a small lock, crescent wrench, Proto pipe wrench, wood folding ruler, Millers Falls screwdriver.

$18 spent

Heading up to camp for a week of drinking and sleeping (not necessarily in that order) tomorrow. CL is a bust for that area but I'm going to keep my eyes open anyway. The corridor I travel is usually full of semi-permanent yard sales this time of year, but it's almost all dishes, glass, and clothes. I got lucky two years ago, but I doubt I'll find another mechanic's estate sale again. We'll see. Fingers crossed.

I shopped one estate sale yesterday - got there two hours after opening, but was still able to find a few nice items:

There were three of these nice SS scales - 12", 18", and 24". I doubled my money on the 18" before I came home.

These fit a small Delta belt sander that I got at another estate sale a few weeks ago.

We went to the flea market early this morning and spend about 90 minutes wandering around. Picked up a Husky USA ratchet for $1 and a rusty Wagner 8" pan for $1. Normally I wouldn't bother looking at the cast iron pans there because people want top dollar for them, but I this one was a little crusty and rusty and I decided to pick it up and the guy said a buck. A little Scotch Brite and hit a couple spots with the Dremel and wire wheel and I made breakfast in it. Kid got $10 worth of Hot Wheels & Matchbox cars (that is 50 of them if you are wondering).

Passed up this Stanley wall box(?) wood working kit for $45:

Nice finds guys!

Some interesting things surfaced this AM. I passed on a number of overpriced things...

My first pickup was a lamp, but it's a very DIFFERENT lamp!

attachment.php

And the meter works when its on! I want to add a receptacle box on the back side using the load side of the meter...

attachment.php

An Estate sale (an elderly woman I actually knew from Freecycle had passed...) Brass & Sheet Metal Hammers, old Craftsman driver, a Larco pipe Needle Nose, Forming, & small Electrician's Pliers, a set of brass Troy Scale weights, some Sliver-plate, and four Propane cylinders like shown. $15 all

attachment.php

I don't usually buy pipe wrenches anymore, but this one was unusual enough that I bent on that. 1916 pat. Date

HS Flea produced a Long C Craftsman and Proto LA Sockets from one seller, and SO and Indestro sockets and a Loader (for HK?) from another, A buck to each...

Well, I had a good day at the Concord swap, picked up a few small tools at a buck or less a pop

The bit driver is Sylvania Electric, and I picked it up as it has a metal cap, also Proto SAE and Proto Challenger metric, Proto slip joints, P&C punch, a Herbrand 9/16 along with a couple file handles and this weird staple puller that I paid $5 as it came with this

'72 industrial and utility tools, with Kennedy catalog to go with it. Then stopped at my favorite junk/antique dealer on the way home and picked up this

Haven't taken inventory yet, but there is a complete set of auger bits, scrapers, trammel points, saw files, soldering irons, moulding set etc. I probably paid to much at $80, but some days you just do it.

There were only a few garage sales today and a couple of good auctions but I didn't feel like burning up a nice day paying to much for stuff at an auction so my take was limited to just two hammers for 3 bucks. 50's Craftsman soft face hammer . Resin and hard rubber. It has the original handle marked Craftsman and "Professional Mechanic" . Pretty cool. The other hammer is a 10 pound Iron City striking hammer. The handle is good at least until I remove the duct tape.

Thanks Top! I think I recall seeing something like it too, but no details stick...

BMW: That wood case is cool! I can see the lower tray slides on a dovetail slide, I'm guessing the top one lifts out? Looks like a saw fits in the top? Neat case!

More pics please?

Nice find Outlaw on the lamp.My F-I-L has one very similar it was a retirement gift from the electrical contractor he worked for for 38+ years. I'll have to examine it more closely to see if the meter spins.I presume it does and they were probably made by the same company.

Cool lamp. What caliber for the speedloader? Looks like .357/.38s.

Outlaw here you go

Drawer slide

The whole drawer doesn't lift out, just the right side to hold brace bits

The top is set up to hold saws, but I will need to adjust it to fit my Vermont American

It also is set to hold planes, and my Crafty fits snug as a bug.

Bottom compartment

Lots of extra tools, some really good, some not so good

And I cannot place these, though I know I have seen them before...

I found a few good things yesterday.
First stop my favorite thing was the Emerson vintage fan in very nice condition. I have a few already but this is the best by far. From the dollar and 50 cent piles I picked up the Enderes cat's paw nail puller, 3 Walden Worchester Spin-Tite nutdrivers, Craftsman Professional screwdriver, Lufkin vintage tape measure, Petersen Vise Grip, Snap On dykes, Kraueter needle nose and Channelock dykes, couple quarts of oil, Xcelite allen driver blades and handle, Mac DBE wrench and a Mustang 1/4" drive breaker bar. I really don't need more hardware and drill bits but most was new, there were some Nicholson burrs and Snap On punch and the containers were worth the $1 each they were asking. Finally the tackle box with electrical stuff was over looked by many but I spied a Starrett box and bought the box. Starrett 134 Cross Test Level and 6" scale, General Hardware copper coated non-magnetic tweezers, Williams punch and Stanley sliding square. I paid $30 for the fan and $25 for the tools.

Second stop didn't have much but scored the tool box with a few goodies (W German wire brush for drill and small dykes) Petersen Vise Grips and Made In USA Columbian utility vise for $19.50.

Today I went to look at a massive 8" wide jaw Reed 208 vise but was outbid quickly, last bid I heard was $750. I did find a few other things there though, more info in the big vise thread later. After that I went to an auto swap meet in Canton TX, not much there for me but did pick up this 1950's Coca Cola 6 foot long counter style cooler for $300. Luckily I managed to stuff it in the back of my Excursion with some effort since I didn't bring my little trailer!
