I have two Liftmaster 8500 openers, and they each have a safety reversing sensor located near bottom. As well as reversing door, this sensor beam will turn on a remote (wireless) Liftmaster light. This means the system is broadcasting a wireless signal to the light, and my question is: is there some sort of noise-making device I can purchase that will pick up that signal and give me an audible signal when someone (or something) trips the beam?

I cannot see my garage doors from my living area, so I would like to have audible notice when something comes into garage.

Thanks for any help. :D

Have you looked at the door and gate monitor? I believe it's 829 LM
Looking at Liftmaster site it has audible alert. Take a look here.

Thanks, I didn't see that. Below is section from 'Page 2' and it appears to have audible alerts for everything except what I want!!

I guess you could alway get a second remote light and put a buzzer or bell in place of the light bulb. Kinda ghetto but.....

Well, this is not a bad idea. I already have two extra remote lights that I am not using.

Is there a buzzer or bell that would only make noise for a second or two? The light has timer settings, but they are like two minutes or five minutes, and I don't want continual noise, hahaha.... :D

I have this same operator but it's still in the box waiting for me to do the high lift conversion on my door. Plan to start that project tomorrow. Damn it's hot in the garage right now.
After I get the operator installed I'd like to have the audible also so I will pass on what I come up with.

The 828LM internet gateway for the 8500 sends alerts to your smart phone. That is if you have wifi and internet.

You could probably figure out how to make use of one of the wireless doorbell extenders. If you could figure out how to make the switch momentarily activate when the light bulb turns on, it should work. May take an electronics guru.

I found a timer relay for about $8.00 and a buzzer for about the same. I can incorporate these into the remote light fixture to stop the buzzer from ringing for several minutes. Should work fine.
