I have not seen this Wilton before, just says Pat. Pend. Sorry that there are no jaw inserts.

DWise, I have one of these and love the versatility for light duty use. Google Wilton flip grip for more info.I have not seen this Wilton before, just says Pat. Pend. Sorry that there are no jaw inserts.

I purchased the table, the 6 inch wilton and the chain vise 4 a sum of 150.00 dollars in Albuquerque!!! Sandman
i was just asking another member how he was planning on putting 100 year old patina on his new handle for his blacksmith vise and the patina you put on that stand's base is maybe a perfect match. do tell?

Just did a weigh in, and it seems it's actually a bit lighter than I thought. Only 150#, still nearly as big as me though

Yeah, the handle is another part of the project. I believe IHmachinery has some more pictures of the process that I wasn't able to take with a torch in one hand and a hammer in the other.Very nice vise Vintage, looks like you made a handle. 150# vise connected to a bench and sitting on a support is plenty strong. Great job.
I had always wanted one, and three came along at a price I couldn't refuse. This one, a 4" Colombian (with slots for pipe jaws) I gave my dad, and a really beautiful 4" one with factory serrated jaws that I haven't torn into yet. Probably the most ornate post vise I've seen.V-nut, awesome job on that big *** vise. Never wanted one of those leg vises.....until now!
Royse - Another excellent project with the vise stand, which is no surprise to anyone that has followed your projects.Per drivesitfar's request here is a pic of a vise stand and a parker 674-1/2
It's a little odd, but turned out good to my eye.

Sandman scores again! The one downside of looking at everybody else's fantastic deals is that now everything that used to look like a pretty good deal looks way overpriced so we can't bring ourselves to buy anything at all!
Speaking of overpriced, look at this 5 inch Prentiss on C/L asking $700
I've never seen a repair like this one.
Probably 30-40 years old. I had one for a long time on a post stand and used it for my "ground clamp" for small parts I was welding.
They came with both flat plate and pipe jaws. Entry level Homeowners vise, and I believe most if not all were imported., probably from Japan or Taiwan

As for it's mounting, the vise and planned stand together should probably weigh somewhere around 700 pounds, and that's not going anywhere

What repair do you see? I don't see anything in that picture
BB: so how many old vises do you own that are NOS in the box?
Why do us guys like vises anyway?!!? Its just a lump of steel nothing more. Not a whole lot of technology in them. Why the heck do we enjoy these things? Ive got 7 vises and barely use 1 of them! LOL
