How do you like that saw? It's on my list to consider buying.

This is the Pontiac when I bought it in 2000. 74 Nova subframe in front, Ford 9" in the rear and a 77 Caddy engine. I got the chassis done first, then never started on the body. Since I haven't worked on it in over 10 years, it was time to move it to someone else. The sale is pending.

Put my lift in last weekend (MaxJax) and I love it.
14eadf6ecfff48f983fb097115d51c79.jpg
And used it for an oil change for my brother's car:

This weekend used the lift to rebuild my riding mower engine and service the cutting deck. Wow that thing needed a lot of work!!

Today I learned that carbon steel shafting is hard to cut! I need a 2" piece of 1/4" shaft to serve as the axle on the yarn swift and I've been at it for about 10 minutes with my M12 bandsaw with a fresh blade. I've got a little slit cut in it so far. I may have to wait until I can work during the day and do it with a angle grinder and an abrasive cut off disc. At this rate I'll have cut through it by sunrise tomorrow!

I was expecting to just zip right through it like I've done with normal steel rod I've bought at the home centers before. This shaft is: "Class L, Carbon Steel, 60 Rockwell C"

That's because 60 Rc. is extremely hard. Sounds like you have some Thomson shafting or something similar. If that is the case then it is most likely just case hardened and not through hardened.

More photos please.
Your many posts about drilling holes, cooler mounts and tire choices have really piqued my interest.

Here are a couple; I have the "build" in my Camp Gear Thread here:
http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?p=5926254&posted=1#post5926254

I'm basically going from this:

To this:

And it will eventually get bigger 12" rim tires to replace the 8" and still be an ultralight trailer for behind my 65 HP rig (Camp thread explains it all)

Neat looking car. Thanks for the details.

Started bleeding the brakes on the model A, pops says "we should probably replace the rear tires before our next trip." (I had the rears off for better access / light to work).

Off we go to get two new rear tires (hmmm, rear tires wore out on a V8 powered Model A, before the fronts, go figure  ) and "other" errands.

I figured if we were putting new shoes back there I should fix the rear fenders so they can't rub on the new tires.

Only has two pieces of fiberglass on the whole car, yep, both rear fenders.

Not good glass either, they are both warped, the left on far worse than the right.

I've tried to find a salvageable pair of Henry steel locally, and at swap meets in the South 48, no joy (I get three choices, none, some that are so bad it would be easier to start with flat stock, and they want more than the repops cost, or the repops, where they want 3x the cost of the fenders to ship them here :willy_nil ).

I have some left over carbon fiber from old race car projects, one of the errands was to pick up some fresh epoxy resin and hardener.

I got the fenders taped up (to protect the paint) and used a 2X4 and some clamps to warp them around to where they should be and started to take the tail lights off ( be a shame to screw up the wires, or bond the bracket to the fender  ) when my coordination and patience ran out.

More to come tomorrow. :)

Gotta finish up one last light inside, tie in the two outdoor ones, then slap up the vapor barrier and fireboard today and do a cleanup. Should clean out the trench and I ready for building inspection.

Hope I can get those passed before I leave for work a week Sunday.

That's really cool. Never heard of those so I did a bit of googling. Apparently they sold those in kit form like you'd see in the back of Popular Mechanics.

The belt drive system is interesting:

Mine had a 12 hp tecumseh, it died in the late 70's so the original owner put it in storage. When I picked it up a couple years ago, I repowered it with a 14 hp Kohler. Currently going through and replacing anything worn.

Working on figuring a way of restoring this old frame. Going to make a mirror out of it I think.

Got some time to mix a batch of epoxy, after roughing up the inside of the left fender (in the area it warps when not clamped).

I got the carbon laid in (unidirectional "tape") but I was a little "late" getting the glass fabric and wound up with the last 1/3rd of the batch as pudding (D'oh) exceeded the pot life limit.

Cost me a mixing cup, brush and a small chunk of fiberglass fabric we've likely had for the last 40 years.

I wanted to put the glass on to spread the load in hopes the glass in the fender wouldn't crack when the carbon doesn't want to flex.

I'd use some thin carbon fabric, but I apparently used that up previously.

I have lots more glass, so when the stuff I have on there cures, in another 3 hours or so  I'll see if I can mix a small enough batch of resin for 2-3 square feet of inner fender. (a few ounces of resin 5:1 resin to hardener, anyone got an eye dropper? )

Edit: I figured pictures would be nice.

It looks like fabric because there are fiberflass threads every so often to keep the carbon lined up.

Last night I started re-plumbing the compressor in preparation for the installation of the 3/4" Rapidair MaxLine kit. Got all but one of the manifold drops mounted to the wall.

Bronco looks pretty nice for something that'll be 40 years old pretty soon. How did it survive this long? Was it parked for a while, or just well taken care of? What drivetrain?

Over the past weekend, made a cabinet for my oil-change equipment. The intent is to have a place to store the drainpan and funnels so they have time to drain off and not get dirty. the foil catch pan is temporay unit I can find a good metal pan that fits the space. There is a matching cabinet with a full length door to hold the oil itself that I should get done this weekend.

Its probably is in such good shape as it wasn't off-road much and it sat covered for years.

It's a 79' 351/400 modified w/AC , C6 Automatic, Ford 9" with DT Lockers F,R.:3gears:

The motor was worked and the truck lifted by the second owner who then Crashed it... It sat for 15 years and we acquired it 3 years ago....

We're are going to run it as it sits for now. when these tires are shot we have a set of 40" tires 6" Lifted springs/block and a 3" body lift

Its our parts and coffee truck... :D

Been reorganizing and putting stuff away for a couple of days, I got to get this done as tonight I brought home a late 80's Matco double MB1220, (6 ft X 21 X 45-1/2 high, 18 drawers) and I need to play some tool box Tetris and a couple old ones will leave the building...

I just let myself in for some real work...

sat in the garage trying to hunt down 15-20 mil vapor barrier for my garage build. Only big store place that carries any is HD and they want $600 for 2000 sqft. I need half of that.
The search continues.
