I'm looking at using a hydraulic hose for my compressor whip. The ones I have seen have two male ends. What kind of fitting is used on one end of the hose so it doesn't twist when tightening up the ends ?
thanks

you can do adaptors to make swivel .

or have hose made with 1 or both ends swivel .

lots of hydro fittings on the ends are the swivel so this is why regular off the shelf hoses are not swivel.

My reel has a 1/2 male NPT so a female swivel is required.

Just tighten the male end into the black pipe coupler and align with the reel male.

I threaded right into the ball valve and used a union at the wall. Tight as a bull frog's *** with zero hissing.

I need the fitting in the first pic, between the ****** and hose. You referred to it as a union, is that what it is called? thanks

Yep "union" check the plumbing section at any hardware store and you're set.

I used a union too, but there are some hydro fittings that wouldn't need this. IIRC they have different ends and some have swivels to fit up to tapers and such. You just have to see whats available locally.

Just so happens I bought a swivel and hydraulic line today. I was comparing prices between TSC & FFH, so I snapped a picture of the price.

I needed 3/8" but you may need a different size.
