Amazon warehouse had a great deal on a set of sae xxl double box ratchet wrenches last week that I jumped on. The two wrenches were 13/16x7/8 and 15/16x1" I rip them open like its Christmas morning and start playing with them. Not bad, I'm thinking. Then I notice something. No USA stamp. Hmmm that's odd. Look on the box. Made in Taiwan. They're nice and should work just fine, but this is upsetting. Granted I only paid like $30 or something. Maybe less. Oh well. Im still happy, but wouldn't be if I paid full price. That's for sure. Part number is 89252

Taiwan is better than China or India. Could be older stock from before Ideal took over, or Ideal may not be making these in the US yet. Dunno.

They are Nos. SK doesn't sell them anymore since Ideal took over and committed to all USA made tools. They happen to be some of the best ratchet wrenches you can get. $30 odd is basically nothing for a pair of DBE that size.
SK of old had quite a bit foreign made stuff, most of it very good and coming from the Facom sources.
HJE has some E torx wrenches stamped Italy, and there is lots of French made.

No need to be mad.
Spline g-pros were made by Kabo.
Same as Matco. Quality stuff.
I think they are 90T.

Since they are NOS im not sure how they would handle warranty.
Im guessing they would give you credit towards another purchase.
They offered me this option for a socket that was NLA.

For that price, you did well.

No, I know I was just in the moment and thought I'd put it up for discussion. I'm extremely happy with them. Ratchet wrenches that size aren't cheap at all. Funny thing is when I looked at them, I saw the brass screw in the side and first thing I thought was they looked just like the Matco's. I think Carlyle's are also 90 tooth made by Kabo, right?

If you insist. Back side has sizes and part number, that's it.

I would probably be a little disappointed but for the price I would have bought them also. Still a great deal

I don't think you should be mad at your purchase but, I am surprised that you thought they were US made. :wtf:

Aside from the X Frame wrench, the Ideal owned SK currently makes no other ratcheting wrenches.

Your wrenches are from the old SK G Pro days. They're actually quite nice and are also sold under the Cornwell brand. Kabo makes some very nice fine toothed ratcheting wrenches.

If you didn't know exactly what they were before you bought them with all the time you spend on this site you should only be mad at yourself.

Yeah, man. I normally enjoy or learn something from the OP's posts/threads, but asking the forum how he should FEEL? Give up the man card, dude....

Sorry there "Big Kurt." Didn't realize the thread police were in the house revoking our hypothetical man cards again. I'm not exactly an SK aficionado, it just threw me off. Fwiw my metric xl double box ratchet wrenches are Mac Expert. My flex heads and Stubbys are Gearwrench. My 0 offsets are Proto Taiwan. Coo really doesn't bother me. I was just looking for some input. Not genuinely asking to help with my feelings. Next time I'll be less sarcastic for those who can't handle it. My apologies sir. Revoke away.

Truth be told, I'm a little jealous of your score. I kinda dig those wrenches, Taiwan or not.

i got the SAE wrenches also, arrived yesterday. very pleased, my regret is not getting the metric set also, although i bet i would have deprived one of you fine people from getting the metric set.

they are pretty freakin big.

yeah, should have bought the metric set for 9.99 also. with 7.99 shipping it was a steal.

I try to oppose abusive labor practices. I try to oppose horse-**** environmental regulations/enforcement. I prefer to support my neighbors and countrymen through the whole manufacturing process.

Yes.

My Mr. Coffee is so old it says "Made in USA" on the bottom.

I have the metric version of that set, bought years ago from sears. You got a good price, I'd be happy with them. I am sure half of us would be willing to buy them from you if you want your money back.

I have the full set of SK pro wrenches and I like them.

I was joking. How could I possibly be mad? A 1" ratchet wrench by any[/I reputable brand costs at least twice as much as I paid for the entire set. I'm very pleased and wish I was able to get the metric set too.
