Calling all garage door brothers

I hope one of you guys can help me out.
I run a small door business in south western Ontario Canada.
For the last four years I have been using the best spring winding tool I have found. It is the sure winder by DMA tools. Any one else using it?
My issue is one of my guys lost the removable part of the gear assembly. I always call it the key.
Anyways DMA tools seems to be out of buisiness and I cant find a replacement part. Any of you guys in the southern states heard of them. I believe when I bought it that it came from Florida.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

The best tool is a winding bar in my opinion. No fancy parts, multiple uses, doesn't wear out etc. Unless the are for Wayne Dalton torque tube things but I'm on the commercial side so I'm not sure what other gizmos are out there. I am off to youtube to check that tool out though

Edit, just watched their promo video and it's apparent why they are hard to find, they can't even wind a spring correctly. Unless It was low headroom which doesn't appear to need to be. Would have bean great if the spring blew passed the cones

I'm sure you have thought about it already but it looks like your going to need to have one made up by a machine shop. I would have them make 2 as the cost shouldn't be that much more after set up.

Guess that guy going to be using bars only.

Once you use the sure winder you never want to go back to bars.

I did have a shop quote it once way back. Said it would be cheaper to buy a new one. But now I may have no choice.

Can you post a picture? If you check out some of the amateur machining forums, and it's not overly complicated, you should be able to find someone to do it ( if not on here) for a reasonable price. Going to commercial shops for one offs is tough because a lot of their pricing is driven by opportunity cost of tying up a machine and setting up time for your part...

Have the "key" machined- 2or3- I can see why something like that can be misplaced.

Well guess what I found today. The lost key. Went to use the cordless circular saw and couldn't get the depth adjustment to move. Low and behold jammed down into the blade guard I find the key.

Now to get a new tool made before it dissappears or breaks
