I've searched all over and cannot seem to find any of the larger Dewalt bit storage cases...I do not have the need for more bits just storage for a bit set I already have that didn't come with a case. The bits are Spade bits so I need the larger size case as the bits are 6" in length. I'd like to get a hold of a few of them if possible, but I can't find any for sale, just pictures which is of no use to me.

They don't even need to be Dewalt but I already have a bunch of the Dewalt ones so it would be easier to just stick with the type I have if I could find some.

Went to Lowes today, they didn't have anything of use at all. The Milwaukee shockwave cases still aren't tall enough, or didn't seem tall enough to me to hold the bits. Nothing comes up on the internet either other than that 1 Dewalt compartmentalized storage case which won't work as the bits will still be banging together.

Apparently these companies think you'll never need to take the bits with you, but still some sort of case would be helpful, even a roll up canvas type case would be better than nothing.

I sent a message asking Dewalt directly, they replied with sorry we don't sell just the cases. Well of course not because it would make sense, and of course people wouldn't have to buy a whole bit set just to get an empty case.

As of yet I haven't found a solution for those spade bits I bought, and probably never will. Sure I could drill holes in a block of wood and put them in that, but it doesn't work when you have to transport them in a tool bag out in the field.

One of my friends bought a set of Irwin spade drills in a bunch of sizes, it came in a case that is something like a Trapper Keeper, except it closes with a zipper.

You could use the Dewalt tough cases, the bits would each have their own compartment as opposed to the holes.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/DEWALT-DW2190-TOUGH-CASE-STORAGE-CONTAINER-W-ADJUSTABLE-COMPARTMENTS-/271562706961?hash=item3f3a661011:g:uVYAAOSwSX9XBDHc

Not large enough, already tried, its a 13 bit set, nobody seems to make anything to store these bit sets, yet Bosch is one company that makes the bit sets, you would think that Bosch would include some sort of case, heck the roll up canvas pouch would be far better than having the bits banging around in a tool bag.

I have a bunch of empty cases. What ones are looking for?

Post a pic.

I was looking for something similar to the Milwaukee Shockwave Cases. I ordered a Milwaukee bit set in hopes the case would be large enough, I'll just toss the screwdriver bits in the drawer of my toolbox if the shockwave case works.

I was looking at one of these: http://www.circlecsupply.com/milwau...bit-set.html?gclid=CIKv07jd6s4CFYNufgodYUIIYQ

Each spade bit is 6 inches long, the Dewalt cases I have aren't large enough unfortunately.

Damn shame this wasn't posted 6 months ago. I tossed out all kinds of cases and had 3-4 of what you want. I kept one for the exact same reason in my truck bag, but that massive collection of empties went bye-bye.

I did an Ebay search for space bit case and had multiple hits for sets. It looks like Irwin, Bosch and Ryobi make nice cases. Try contacting them. Or, perhaps an old wrench roll might work for you?

What about this?

You still end up with all the bits thrown together to get chipped and damaged. Manufacturers make cases but apparently they can't make cases to hold 6" long spade bits LOL. Going to try the Milwaukee case as it seemed to be larger in comparison to the other brand cases at Lowes and Home Depot the other day. I think with a bit of organization in the Milwaukee case I'll be able to get it to work.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts. Seems like everyone at one point had a garage full of those cases LOL, never fails when you need them you've already thrown them away.

OK, they're probably the same cases I have, which I'd send to you for free.

They're like this:

Just buy my buddy a set and after a week he'll have lost most of the bits and you can have the empty case.

Those are like the ones I already have, they aren't quite long enough to hold the spade bits unfortunately LOL.

I ordered one this past weekend going to see how it works out, I have several other bits I can put in it as well.

Here is the empty Dewalt case they sell at Home Depot. I use it for my spade bits counter sinks and a few other misc bits. It has locking dividers so everything stays in place.

Have you had any issues with damage by having them banging against each other like that? That's what I'm trying to avoid.

I got the Milwaukee case today going to gut it and try and see if the bits work in it but if not I'll pickup one of those Dewalt cases for now.

Here's the Milwaukee case with the spade bits in it. Its a bit cramped, there's another larger Milwaukee case I may order which will give a bit more space. This one will work just have to turn the larger bits slightly.

No damage issues. The 13 bits in that craftsman set and they fit in there nice and neat without a lot of room for moving around.

Thanks, I'll pick one up for the other bit set in the service truck at work. Sick and tired of damaged bits or lost bits from not being put back where they belong. A dedicated case would be extremely handy.

I ordered a couple tool rolls and have migrated the bits into the tool roll. I like the tool roll better for these bits, so the Milwaukee case was put back together and kept as another screw driver bit set LOL.

How much were those tool rolls?
I have this black & decker set that came with a nice tool roll. just over $10 you can get a roll and spare bits. The bits have held up fine over the last 3 yrs. The only problem I have with them is that they dont have the detent that will allow them to stay in place when using a quick lock chuck.
I ended up replacing them with an irwin set that fits perfectly against the side of my rolling tool bag.

Just to revive this one from the dead: you can get the empty cases from Amazon, Home Depot, and Lowes for $7.

Still don't see 'em listed on the DeWalt site. The inserts don't appear for sale on their own outside of eBay, but you can 3D print some of your own:
