Hello members. I'm looking at purchasing a mobile tool box and need some suggestions. It doesn't have to be too portable because it might get too heavy. I have a pickup truck or an older Chevy Blazer. I don't want to leave it overnight in my vehicles.

Ridgid, dewalt and husky all have a line of durable and stackable toolboxes.
I have the ridgid and like it a lot. Got it on promo at HD, buy the bottom two and get the smaller one for free.

Right now I'm looking real hard at Bosch L'boxx. The cool thing about the system is that there are dozens of companies making compatible components, so the options are many. I believe the originator is Sortimo, and they make in vehicle rack systems designed for L'boxx components.
Festool has a similar system, on the pricy side, that looks very nice but I didn't look real hard at it. For pure ruggedness look at Dewalt tough-system.
Take a look at Beta too if you're ready to open your wallet. The C41H looks freaking sweet, as does the C27S, which is more automotive oriented. I've been drooling over those two.
Yeah, I've been watching portable tool storage **** the last couple hours straight, due to the thread about a member buying the Beta C27S collapsible trolley.

Those are far from being able to be moved in and out of a blazer regularly once loaded.
I just bought some Workmo units from Sortimo. They're compatible with all the L-boxxes I already have. You can easily carry those in and out of your truck and they also have a roller system available.

I have the Ridgid boxes as well and they're outstanding. Used daily for over a year with no deficiency, malfunction or damage.
Two wheeled bottoms, one mid box, one organizer box and two of the crates.
I only have a picture of the organizer right now, but they're all just as full!

As I said in this thread back in late August, I was contemplating Bosch L-Boxx. Well I picked up quite a few pieces, both dollies, at least one of each type of box and several of some. I couldn't be happier.
It's pretty dense storage. The drawer type boxes like the 3D and the L-rack give you good access to stuff. The size 1 box with the small parts dividers is simply awesome. You can throw it around and parts will not mix at all.
What I really like is being able to load and unload very quickly, but without having to lift anything very heavy all at once. The system I was using before, I ended up just keeping tools in the vehicle full time, which I hated.
I can't say enough about it, L-Boxx was one of the best tool storage purchases I've made. In terms of storage volume for the money though, it's probably comparable to a SnapOn box, so there's that. But the system makes me faster, and is just a pleasure to work with.
