Calling the concrete coverage specialists out there...
My father in law has just finished building a new house. The outside deck area is fairly small, open to the elements but has a roof. Its raw concrete and the plan was to cover with a wooden deck.
However I've seen the various acid/metallic finishes and i have epoxy garage floors and they all look great... but is there any products available that can handle sun and rain? Ive used an external grade covering called matacryl but its not really aesthetically pleasing even if it's a seriously good product.. it would certainly make life easier to coat the concrete rather that cover it in wood... thanks

We do not carry it (yet) but have you looked at an acid stain and sealer?

Pick something breathable for your sealer unless you have a raised slab (off ground).
Not all the acid stains can go outside and stay away from epoxy all together.

Guys... one of the contractors who my father in law is talking with (who im fairly sure hasnt got any experience in the area) is suggesting that acid staining is a bad thing due to high iron content in the concrete, which will continue to disolve over time.
Ive not discussed it with him but i doubt that the acid is that strong and when neutralized and washed off will no longer be an issue anyway. Sounds plausible but unlikely...
What do you think ???

Do I need any special considerations for a garage floor in Florida? And what are the preferences for you all? My past experience in garages and workshops was with concrete stains. Easy clean up, and reapplication when needed (at least once a year). It has been many years, and I'm sure that there aree better products on the market now. I have had an epoxy floor professionally "installed", and still suffered from hot tire lift. Our motorcycle garage at work suffered from the same problem.

Any ideas, guidance will be greatly appreciated...
