Appears to be some good tools available for oil seal removal, has anyone
had any experience with them.

I have the standard puller from Lisle or whoever, the black handle with 2 different sized picks on the end. common blister-packed tool at all the parts stores. forget what I paid but I am sure it was <$10. works just fine. tools like that are pretty simple and there's not much to them, they pretty much all work...as does a screwdriver :)

I also have a lisle. Works just fine 99% of the time. Sometimes I use a hammer and chisel to get a gap between seal and bottoming surface if they are really rusted in.

I have a bluepoint one, it is just a rebranded Lisle (flat style) at home I have a no-name style one and while it works the ends are softer and bend on the tip.

Even the bluepoint one is under $20.

Have one similar to the one mentioned in post #3.
Those featured in posts #7 & #8, would be very useful inexpensive additions.
Thanks for your replies.

I have the Craftsman version of that. The long handle gives you nice leverage, but always seems to interfere with me in a way that makes me reach for another tool.

My favorite was something I made from a worn out philips screwdriver. I ground the tip down, and heated and bent it into a hook.

There's also the woodscrew option.
