.
friend had indoor outdoor carpet down. 15 years old and in bad shape. pulled it all up and cut it into small light rolls and tied it with string for garbage man to take.
now we have adhesive residue left behind.

tried a 4 inch razor scraper and henry adhesive remover from home depot .

slow process.

yesterday bought a diamond wheel from harbor freight
and started in far corner
slightly faster and very dusty.
wearing eye protection and thick mask.
knees sore , so using a small rug now as i move toward the front.
have pix up in next few days

the cost of renting equipment and rent deposit exceeds the cost of the supplies needed to do the floor .

the owner does not want to pay additional funds to rent any equipment and then be pressed for time to complete the floor job and then return equipment to avoid additional daily or hourly rates .

I see you used a wood patch product...
I know they recommend for concrete but the spec. sheet calls it a wood product.
Regardless, I would not use anything needing water to patch a floor under epoxy.
They are weak, weak, weak and become the weak-link in the system. Hope this hold up for you but I would never recommend it.

Good luck with the floor lasting.

I don't want to sound like a Debbie downer but I can't imagine the floor lasting. My friend decided to do his floor. I told him what products I went with and who to contact. He said that was too much money, and purchased the same stuff you have pictured. After a few weeks guess what happened... started lifting up in spots. Hot tire pickup was also happening.

If I learned anything from this forum it's not to go cheap or skip prep work when doing an epoxy floor. I don't ever have to worry that my floor is going to pick up or degrade short of me dragging **** on it 24/7. Hopefully the homeowner has better luck that my friends and 50+% of the bad reviews on the product...

..............................................................

i added the flake on top of the 2nd coat of wet epoxy
and it just sticks there and sort of gradually melts into adheres to the 2nd coat

i did 4 x 4 section of 1st coat .then waited a little bit
then rolled 2nd coat and spread the flakes over the 4 x4 of wet 2nd coat.
(see pix)
..
the roller will overlap some of the flakes that get outside of the 2nd coat and fall onto your 1st coat area .. .
some flakes just stick to the roller because roller just picks them up
but they are no issue .
the roller keeps working fine

the second coat also had some anti skid mixed in it.

......................

after a couple days of drying .

once floor started to dry
they decided to add a clear top coat with more anti-skid mixed in.
(comes inside clear kit )

so i mixed clear parts A & B plus anti skid as packet said.
but could not get all the clear out of the bag. (tiny bit of 90.00 clear still remains in bag)
so i cut the bag open
and just took a throw away brush and the cut open bag and went around the perimeter of floor while gathering up all the clear residual that i could , off the foil bag
and used that to cut in the floor/stemwall tight edge of 3 sides near
where the roller could not reach.

then i took the clear/nonskid mixture and poured in roller pan
and started in back corner by backyard garage door / same place where i started epoxy paint. and worked my way back out to the front edge .

after an hour or so
you could tell the clear was starting to gel.
so you kind of have to hustle to get the clear down.

and that was it .

The only good product rust oleum makes is their epoxy patch you should have used that instead of wood putty mixed with water to patch a concrete floor. That floor will not last, did you do a moisture or ph test??

I am in complete agreement. I understand trying to save a few dollars, but if the floor fails in a relatively short period of time, then it will be a total disaster and will need to be re-done. That just means more work and more money for new materials. I have learned over the years that doing a job for less money now often turns into a situation where you end up paying a lot more money later on. I wish the owner all the best of luck, but I have a feeling this will not turn out well.

I'm sure visiting guest gets that what was done could have been done differently at this point. However he did say there was a very tight budget involved. I think he also mentioned he was just helping a buddy.
Considering its not his property, and the owner is dictating what is to be done, i say, given the circumstances, everything is turning out just fine as far as look appeal is comcerned.

Sure it may not last long but, i think visiting guest is just sharing how nice everything looks and the work involved.
