Re: 22 x 24 Garage - future little speed shop

Having a loft area for storage is great. I did one in my build and love it. I have storage under the eaves and the "man-cave" and work out space in the middle. I have regular stairs, I take it yours are pull down from the ceiling?
Yeah I'm really glad to have change the design for the loft. I wont be able to fully lift a car but the extra storage is priceless.
My garage was too small for regular stairs. It would have take too much space.

Just did a counter top for the tool chest.
My dads old tool chest had 2 overheads on top of it and it was interfering on the wall area where I want to install the tv. After I removed the overheads I was not satisfied on the overall look.
I purchase a bamboo counter top, cut it and groove it so it can snug fit right on the tool chest.
It turn out better than expected.

Re: 22 x 24 Garage - future little speed shop

Here's a few updates,
I've install my racedeck floor. This floor is amazing! I've install a geotextile underneath because I didn't want to see the gray underneath and some people were saying that it could make noize. Regarding the noise, I've tried to clip a few tiles and walk on it before to purchase the textile to see what kind of noise it would make but I didn't heard any noticeable noise. I've decided to purchase it anyway just in case it would make a difference with expansion once everything is install.
The installation of the floor is easy. It was much more troublesome to empty the garage. It took me a full day to do everything.
Since the dragster was not a part of my original garage design, I was struggling on where to put the compressor and the drill press. I've decided to cut a brand new 300$ table to be able to fit the dragster along the wall. I would need to eventually design a wall bracket to support one end of the table and then cut one of the table leg to be able to move it freely but now it's not a priority.
I have broke a wheel on my car 2 weeks ago so I've decide to do a table out of it for the garage. I'll try to find a broken brembo caliper and I will mount it on a old disk under the wheel. With led light it will look awesome. I've already purchase a round glass to fit on it, so I only need to find the caliper to complete it.
The trophy wall is also mostly done. I still need to clean some of the trophy and purchase a numerical picture frame or a table to slideshow the pictures and videos.
I'm now sorting bolts, nuts, washer, etc for the last weeks. My dad was doing a collection I think lol. I'm throwing out everything rusted. I should I put them in a bucket and sold them at the weight, I wasn't expecting to have so many, It's never ending. Each box I'm opening contain cans of them lol.
I'll try to post more picture one I clean the garage again.

Thanks

Wow your garage looks great. How's the floor working for ya. I make such a mess I'd constantly be cleaning the grooves out. Especially around the drill press.

Thanks! Yeah, cleanning could be an issue. Up to now everything works great with a shopvac. But I'm scrare to cut wood. The geotextile look better but will trap dirt more easily.
It will force me to be less messy when I work.

Re: 22 x 24 Garage - future little speed shop

Working on a sweet bistro table for my garage today.
I used:
the wheel I've just broke,
the post from a chair that was in special recently,
a G37 brembo rotor that was 50% of today
a huge Brembo caliper that was given to me last week at an autoshop. They had it for years and was missing parts.
a ledstrip kit for car interior. I can customize the light output and color but I only realy wanted red. I'm not really sure it was a useful idea to put led in this table but why not. Worst case I lost some money.

I'm not sure if I'll put a tire on the wheel or if I should keep it like this.

Didn't had much time to work in the garage for a while.
Here's my latest changes:
50" TV (seeing my girlfriend face once she saw that I've installed a bigger tv in the garage than in the house was priceless lol)

3x 2 led tube light under the wall cabinets.
I'm very pleased with the light they were about 40 each in special and are very bright.

Next step would be to comple the garage door opener installation and create storage structures in the attic.
