What are you paying for 2 single door installs with all new hardware and torsion bar. Mine are 8 by 7. Quote was for non insulated, no window, steel. Quote was $2300. Good or bad?

Under $1000 for hardware? Or is labor included in that 1K? Just a decent opener is $150 times 2 :headscrat

I got a Haas kit, 9'w x 8' tall, stock color, including every piece of hardware, 2" thick full foam insulation, no windows, no opener, $650, I pick up at the local dealer's shop. They also never came out to measure, I had 1/16" dimensions of the rough opening when I went there, i did take pains when framing to build to the 108" x 96" within 1/16". I took pieces of my new vinyl siding into the shop when selecting the color for an accurate comparison.

The one thing I did differently was not to use the hex head 1-1/2" long screws that came with the kit to mount the track. I used GRK-RSS washer-head screws which are 3" or 4" long depending on the location they were in.

I did wind the spring the wrong direction when assembling it, that caused some weird behavior. But then I studied my other doors and realized the error. No harm done.

Springs installed backwards happens more than most guys will admit. Easily done, just remember right wound spring goes on left side of center bearing and vice versa. No damage done.

FWIW, having done a couple of doors I wouldn't pay anyone to do an install. Last one was a 16x7 done single hand. I used an 8x7 in the old shop and I think it took maybe 4 hours total from package open to roll up. Less than $300 total cost.

With an opener I would charge no more than 700 for that set up per door. I get 550 for just the door installed. Guess it depends on where you live.
